💪WHAT IS FLEXIBLE EXERCISE 👇👇 - - Eric Helms talked about REF… Realistic, Enjoyable, and Flexible in his Muscle and Strength Video Series. Before you plan out your program and weekly training schedule, you need to take these 3 factors into consideration (see pic above): - - ✅REALISTIC- Your Programming Should be Realistic for Your Schedule, Goals, and Time Frame. For example: - Monday rolls around, you have your weekly training outlined, and out of nowhere your boss wanted you to take on a last-minute project that needed to be done by Friday. - First reaction is…” That SOB!” The second reaction is now what do I do with my training week that’s already outlined? Looking at this scenario, do you really think your training week is going to go 100% accordingly to plan now? - - - ✅ENJOYABLE- Your Programming Should Be Enjoyable. A lot of people forget that part of their training needs to be enjoyable for them. - For example, would it make sense for you to do cross fit style workouts if you don’t like them? Or Would it be enjoyable for you to do conventional squats and deadlifts if you hate them? - No, so why not do other variations that you will enjoy. Because when it’s all said and done, your training program needs to be enjoyable which will lead to consistency and adherence and thus results. - - ✅FLEXIBLE- Your Programming Should Be Flexible. When you apply flexibility into your programming, it opens a lot of doors. This allows you to complete your total training volume (reps x sets x load) over the course of a week. First Time Father Gains Confidence Back, He’s Mentally Stronger, and Keeps the Weight Off - - @allday_197 came to me 13 months ago and he was stuck in a rut with his fitness. He was fed up with being overweight, vicious cycles of yo yo dieting, not having the energy to play with his new born son, not being mentally, emotionally, and spiritually fit, and his confidence was down in all areas of his life. - - I knew this wasn’t going to be easy and I had to help Andrew figure out his true “WHY” and “Purpose” behind his fitness journey. 🔥Client Spotlight Time🙌 • Today is another amazing fitness transformation by my friend and client @teaghanavrett • Teaghan came to me 8 weeks out from his show in Texas and needed to lose close to 20 pounds. • To be honest, at first, I wasn’t sure if we would be able to do it because… • A) 20 pounds in 8 weeks isn’t easy to lose - and - B) Losing anything more than 2 pounds per week is a risk for muscle mass loss • After I did the initial phone call with Teaghan, got to know him, heard in his voice how dedicated and how bad he wanted to do this, I knew together as a team, we could get the job done. • Fast forward 8 weeks later and we got down 16 pounds for his show in Texas. • This was a great learning lesson for Teaghan because it made him realize that needing more time to diet properly is key and including diet breaks in the future is vital to minimize muscle mass loss and mitigate metabolic adaptations. • None the less, I’m extremely proud of Teaghan for his 8 week dedication and hard work and its been an honor being by his side coaching him and getting to know him and being able to call him a friend now. • See his full journey and video in our BIO 👆 -Coach Chris
