|Reclaim Your BALANCE| LONG POST ALERT! Balance is important. I know that’s a general statement, but it’s true. A few years ago, Brit hipped me to the powers of juicing. I bought my @breville juicer and I didn’t look back! That said, over the holidays I was eating like CRAP and I was functioning in a high state of stress. Family time + travel equaled processed foods, MULTIPLE cheat meals, and sweets - OH, the sweets. End of year clean up, to-do’s, and deadlines pretty much rendered me exhausted. Here’s the thing: while resilient, my body always finds a way to let me know when it’s no longer centered, when it’s not functioning to its full potential, when it is OUT OF BALANCE.
It’s the same way with spirit. As women who are trying our best to build businesses from the ground up, Britt and I both have found ourselves lacking in the work/life balance department. Whether it’s never ending days at our 9-5’s and obsessive focus on our purpose work OR using the “self-care” excuse one too many times, there are always signs when you’re lacking the balance necessary to stay healthy, sane, and walking in a spirit of fullness. Between stress headaches and my bodies cries for something less crappy, I was instantly reminded that just as you can’t eat garbage and expect to function at your best, you can’t constantly find yourself running on fumes and expect to build anything worth while. So, I took a break. I filled my tank with leafy salads, fruit, and cold-pressed juices. I thought about what I needed vs. what was required of me or what I wanted in a moment of weakness. I reclaimed my balance.
Where do you find yourself stumbling the most? How do you find your balance?
P.S. Whenever we go out of town, we try to find a cold-pressed juicery where we can get in some healthy goodies and show some love to a local business, this juice is from @pressbrothers at Grand Central Market in DTLA, just in case you were wondering. :) #BXCEats
