Let’s talk about Banchan!
What is Banchan?
They are a bunch of small side dishes that come with main meals in Korean restaurants. They are unlimited (yum) and for the most part are fermented, so you will have a few different types of kimchi, a seasonal vegetable, pickled radish, and then a few other veggies.
The most important part of this is that they are FERMENTED.
Ever since I listened to The Keto Diet Podcast with @ , I have been trying to clear as many artificial estrogens out of my system. One of the things he mentioned was that soy had astronomical levels of estrogen in it (not good: DO NOT EAT). BUT real fermented soy sauce and miso that were made in small batches had much lower estrogen.
This got me thinking, and doing more research.
I realized that fermented foods not only have less artificial estrogen, but they can help detox your body in getting those pesky artificial estrogens out of your system.
You may see it on my feed but I try and do my own banchan daily. Kimchi, sauerkraut, beets, pickles, giardinera, the list goes on and on.
If you have been suffering from hormonal issues, autoimmune diseases, weight stalls, weight gains, mood issues, you could be affected by artificial estrogens!
