All the things the chocolate bar lacks.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Some fruits also contain better types of carbs then chocolate. Broccoli is rich in nutrients including vitamin C, A, K, B6, folate (B9), iron magenisum, and calcium. . Broccoli also has a decent amount of fiber and more protein than most vegetables. . Broccoli is a cruciferous vegetable which makes it high in sulfur-containing substances know as glucosinolates. This is great for liver methylation pathways that require sulfur. Let’s be more accountable of ourselves and our health. Start by changing habits. Many of us tend to blame our problems on our genetics. Unfortunately yes, there are some things that we have no control of or are unable to change naturally. Such as our height, eye shape & colour, certain traits, etc. But we can have a more hands on control on our well-being than we think. Through recent research it has been said that 5% is genetics and 95% is what surrounds you. Such as the environment you live in, outside influences and what you choose to put into your mouth. Some of us tend to blame certain health issues on our genetics such as obesity, diabetes, heart disease and addiction. When you set your mind into a state of “oh my mum is obese so that’s why I am to”. You have already given yourself permission that it’s ok to go down that path to. Giving yourself an excuse and allowing yourself to continue that path of self destruction. Meaning all the wrong foods and over indulgence. So before we blame our genetics for certain health issues, let’s take note: we can avoid a lot of health issues that we consider hereditary by living a healthier life and taking accountability for how we live and what we eat. Or at least have a better chance! Happy Friday my Sweet Potato Lovers😍🤘🏼. . The best healthy version of ORANGE CHICKEN I have ever had... hope you enjoy this amazing Orange Chicken Sweet Potato Bowl recipe🙋🏼‍♀️. . ➖Ingredients. 🍊For the Orange Marinade🍊 ½cup peeled mandarine orange slices, plus more for garnishing or topping 2 tablespoons chili garlic sauce or Sriracha 1 tablespoon lime juice 3 tablespoons orange marmalade ½ teaspoon kosher salt ¼ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 2 cloves garlic, pressed or minced ⅓ chopped red onion or shallot, plus more for garnishing 3 tablespoons rice wine vinegar ¼ cup avocado oil or olive oil 3 tablespoons tamari or soy sauce 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts 🍊For Sweet Potatos🍊 1 large sweet potato 🍊Toppings🍊 Fresh or grilled mandarin orange slices Crushed red chili flakes Fresh basil or cilantro Tamari or soy sauce . ➖Directions. 1️⃣ Marinade= blend the orange slices, chili sauce, lime juice, orange marmalade, salt, pepper, garlic, onion, and rice wine vinegar in a blender or food processor until mixed well. Add the olive oil and tamari or soy sauce and blend again until creamy. 2️⃣Place chicken breasts in a large bowl and pour over the marinade jsut to cover, reserving ½ cup or more for using as a dressing for the bowls. Refrigerate the chicken for 20 minutes or overnight. 3️⃣ Grill chicken to perfection (165 degrees internal temp) 4️⃣Cut Sweet Potato into bite size pieces and bake at 400 degrees for 35-45 min. 5️⃣ To serve, divide sweet potato among the bowls, then add the chicken, fresh or grilled orange slices and garnish with lime, red chili flakes, and fresh cilantro or basil. This is one of the best brunches I’ve had/made in awhile! Who ever said veggies can’t be delicious for breakfast?! 🍳 • I added my own spin on a Shakshuka and ratatouille which means even more veggies than normal! • Catch my story to see all the details, but here’s what’s inside: red onions, garlic, red bell pepper, zucchini, spinach, 1 can black beans, 2 cans canned tomatoes, 6 eggs, basil, oregano, thyme, and rosemary. Topped with Parmesan cheese and avocado! • Making healthy meals doesn’t need to be COMPLICATED or overwhelming. Try to make sure you have 2 fists of vegetables, 1 fist of grains, and a protein (about the size of your palm). Here, black beans can count as a carbohydrate, fiber, and protein to make a complete meal!

GREEN GINGER smoothie ✨ . As the temperatures start to rise and summer is upon us, I find myself craving more smoothies. However, I have noticed that smoothies can play with my digestion sometimes in a not so friendly way. My friend reminded me of this fact, so I wanted to relay it to y’all here! ✨ . Nothing against smoothies (I mean I’m still a smoothie lover/addict) but cold and raw foods can be hard on your digestive tract. If you think about, our inner temperature is in the 90s and then when we’re dumping something frozen in there, it can be a little shocking! I’ve noticed if I drink something warm (matcha latte!) before my smoothie, my digestion works more smoothly throughout the day. OR if I incorporate more warming spices in my smoothie, such as ginger and cinnamon, it helps too! ✨ . Smoothie dEATs: steamed then frozen zucchini + frozen kale + frozen banana and pineapple + fresh ginger + frozen coconut chunks + homemade almond milk (using @elliesbest nutmilk bag - watch my highlights!) + @furtherfood collagen + cashew butter + @siggisdairy yogurt✨

📍HOW TO USE CHEAT MEALS📍⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Let's talk about CHEAT MEALS 🍔🍕🍺🍫🤤🍩🍸🍦🍪⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Personally? I don't like the idea of them, especially for folks who, like me, have struggled to maintain a healthy body weight⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You see, when I was overweight, cheat meals were the LAST thing I needed to be thinking about. Having a "cheat" meal was just a way to reinforce my bad habits with overeating. And when old eating habits did take over, my "cheat meal" would turn into cheat days or weeks. In fact, I'd usually end up so much that the guilt I felt afterward made me feel worse than before 🙁👎⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ That's why I don't like using regularly planned cheat meals. All it does is encourage "good & bad" food labeling and unhealthy eating habits/patterns.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Now, that does NOT mean I won't have fun and let my hair down every once in a while 💃🥂 I just reserve cheat meals (or as I call them, "Refuels") for special occasions and spontaneous events.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I try not to make a big deal of them either. Yes, I'll enjoy the extra food, but I won't make it the primary focus of the evening. Instead, I put the focus on the people I'm with and the memories we're making together 👯‍♂️🕺💃⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ When you go in with this type of "nonchalant" mindset, you're much less likely to overdo it.
