It’s time to make salsa!!! This salsa is amazing & makes a great addition to so many different meals & snacks! It’s a fabulous way to get doses of incredible healing superfoods too! 5 Roma tomatoes, one onion, 4-5 cloves of garlic, one jalepeno ( remove the majority of the seeds of you don’t want it spicy ) 2 mini bell peppers, a handful of fresh cilantro, a splash of raw ACV, a tiny bit of pink Himalayan salt & a few dashes of pepper! Put it all in a food processor until desired texture! Tuna patties (recipe below) with arugula, sprouts and carrot sticks for some extra crunch! Tuna patties: - 2 cans of tuna - 1 egg - 1/2 cup almond flour - 1/4 cup chopped green onions - 1 tbsp Dijon - salt and pepper - zest of 1 lemon Combine all ingredients in a large bowl (you may need to use your hands!) and form into 4 half inch thick patties. Heat oil up in a pan over medium heat and fry patties for 3-5 minutes per side until golden. Whole30 Day 7 recap: I’ve made it one week! I also just started week 2 of my gym program. I’m burning a lot of calories each workout and finding that my meal timing is really important for sustaining me throughout the day. Another interesting thing is that my grocery bill hasn’t changed at all. I’m buying the same amount of food, just swapping in starchy vegetables for off-limit carb sources. . Starting a new training program and dedicated diet at the same time has really gotten me in my flow and super in tune with my body. .
Meal details: * Late brunch: eggs scrambled in bacon fat with zucchini and baby kale, baked sweet potato, bacon, and half an orange * Post-workout snack: half a sweet potato, salmon, and blueberries * Dinner: Whole Foods hot bar mix of salad greens, pork, guacamole, carrot salad, Brussels sprouts, and potatoes .

All prepared and ready to go for our busiest & first day back to school today😅 - ▪️ - Planning ahead is crucial! Especially on packed days when you don’t have any time to throw a meal together 🔪🥒. - ▪️ - Without preparing for our long days, we would end up bonking 😣 with low blood sugar levels👎🏽, and desperately needing to grab whatever food we can. Not any old food neon: specifically, yellow/orange! I think it’s important to go with those urges; to indulge our food desires and go with the food flow. I have a hunch that’s the body’s way of telling you what it needs. Hands up, I don’t know if there’s any evidence for that! At least not on a physiological/biochemical level. But sometimes – maybe quite often – it’s just good for you to have what you want. You probably can’t tell what this is due to the copious amounts of cilantro I piled on here (fellow cilantro lovers, where you at?!) but it’s a Masala sauce with sprouted lentils over rice 🍛 I used sprouted lentils as they are easy to digest and sprouting releases more nutrients from the lentil ✨ Completely vegan dish, but I also had cooked chicken on the side so Craig could add to his 🙌🏻 Do you know how to sprout beans and lentils? Breakfast smoothies are so refreshing and a fantastic way of getting in a couple servings of fruit. Last week I found a bunch of frozen fruit on sale so I snapped it up. Fresh fruit can be expensive in the winter so frozen fruit is the way to go. It costs less and lasts way longer PLUS it's just as nutritious because the fruit is picked, washed and flash frozen at the peak of its nutritional value. Here is a big question for you: do you crave carbs?? If you crave carbohydrates, then more than likely your system is out of balance and your blood sugars are dropping. It’s a balancing act for sure on how to create meals that eliminate these cravings, but if you know the formula then you can stop the cycle! First: You will want to eat every 3 to 4 hours to keep blood sugar stabilized. This isn’t the same thing as grazing all day, though! Second: Construct a meal of protein, healthy fats and complex carbs at each eating opportunity. Third: Reduce or eliminate all sweeteners. Allow the body to adjust to less sugars, artificial and alcohol especially! Fourth: If you are doing too much HIIT exercise, cut it back to 2 a week as this will increase your carb cravings by shooting up the cortisol in your body. Do you want more tips like this?
