Emily Cheng, “In Between” (2016). Acrylic on Canvas
Many of Emily Cheng’s works involve litricated lines, abstract symbols, and sometimes natural forms. While the images may seem foreign, they all relate back to our mind and body, and how energy flows within and around us as we connect ourselves with the world and universe. Some paintings, like the one shown above, relate to the 7 chakra points that line up in the center of our bodies, each represents a specific function. Her paintings serve as a facilitator for different chakra meditations. We are holding an art and mindfulness session at Cheng’s studio on Oct 13.
