I just made the best hot chocolate using Lindt (Lindor) Balls. I’m never going back to the common old hot chocolate. I kid you not...it’s perfect for chocolate lovers. In medium sauce pan melt the chocolate balls on medium heat and slowly add milk using a wooden spoon. Add some cocoa powder and sugar. When it coats the back of wooden spoon, that’s when all your hot chocolate dreams have come true. It seems like so many years in the past, the holidays were just on us, and while it’s great to share the holidays with the ones you, it can all get overshadowed by the shopping and cooking and getting the little ones ready to visit family. . Being a gift boutique owner, we were encouraged to begin thinking about Christmas as early as May of this year. It seemed crazy, but it’s really been a blessing both in our business and personal lives. Because we picked out everything so long ago, it has seemed like Christmas everyday since we started opening boxes and putting these beauties out in our shop on October first, but it has also made us think about not overlooking the holidays that come before Christmas. . After a day of decorating for Christmas like we had never done before on October 31, we took our little pirate out for a fun and memorable night of trick-or-treating. We soaked it in and let him do the same. It was almost like a scene from a movie in our little town of Pendleton, Indiana with the streets closed so we could just focus on celebrating the fun the little goblins, pirates, and princesses were having. . We’re excited for Thanksgiving like we haven’t been in a long time. Our family has great traditions for Turkey Day, and it’s always loads of fun, but by being aware that we don’t want to overlook anything this year, THE ANTICIPATION IS KILLING US! . I am officially in the holiday spirit. 🦃🎄 Whether you already have full blown decorations up for Christmas or like to do one holiday at a time this is the holiday season, it is about family and friends and really being together, and soaking it all in. The fact that my oldest is in Denver and won’t be home for Thanksgiving 😪makes you realize what the holidays are really about. Not gifts, or stressing the F out over throwing the perfect party but enjoying every moment of this season! Yesterday I finally slowed down and for the first time in a while, actually just enjoyed my time, with my babies and with some of my favorites. It was genuinely good for my soul. We snapped this pic in the @uber (cause that is what responsible parent do right?) and it’s the perfect capture of how I want to celebrate this season. Cheers to enjoying this holiday season to its fullest 🥂P.S. The holidays are upon us... So what does that mean? Excitement, stress, exhaustion, love, time with family and friends, anxiety... In the past, even just last year, this was about the time that my anxiety was through the roof. Every client cancels, so the paycheck reduces drastically. Yet, even though your paycheck is miniscule, you have to somehow buy presents for the holidays, food for company, and there's ALWAYS some kind of crazy unexpected expense that pops up unexpected. This year, I'm pretty sure I've hit a record for the amount of clients canceling in one week. This year, I bought a car the same week that I would typically be losing my mind worrying about how bills will get paid over the next month and a half of lower income due to cancellations and holidays. This year, Joli went to the allergist and needed 3 not so cheap prescriptions in the same week that I bought a car. This year, I'm not worried. This year, I can still pay my bills after seeing very few clients; after buying a car; after taking my daughter to a specialist that isn't covered under our insurance. This year, I have even more to be thankful for! I never expected the first snow in my new home to hit my heart so much but it certainly has. In a childhood of lots of turmoil and tough moments, I realize now snow often symbolized peace and tranquility for me. Which is why it holds a special place in my heart. 🎂 Can you believe it is a WEEK until Thanksgiving 😱🦃 . . A fitness journey is much like my jumping around with how I felt about Thanksgiving... ALL over the place 🥴 . . 👉🏻 If you are anything but excited about Thanksgiving and spending time with family (this if you are NOT excited because of the food issue... I urge you to face your fears and anxieties head on❗️ What if you go into the day NOT thinking ok ok, NO breakfast, I'll pass on the rolls, and absolutely no dessert.... 🤔 but thinking about ENJOYING the food you eat as you eat it.  Slow down, actually taste it.  Don't eat until you are a 1️⃣2️⃣/1️⃣0️⃣on your hunger scale... stop at 7️⃣. Why not create a “Simpler Holiday Season” too? 🎄 _ The Holiday season can significantly increase our stress level. There never seems to be enough time in the day to get everything done. We’ve all been there..... 😬 _ Our “ to do list” is endless, writing a Christmas list, setting a budget, yes this is extremely important, trust me. Then comes the shopping, baking, decorating, Christmas parties, entertaining...... yikes the list goes on on on, I am getting stressed just thinking about it. I love to decorate my home for Christmas, but Pinterest standards are waaaay too high for me. I keep it simple, don’t hate me lol! _ Sharing a few of my stress reducing tips! _ 1. Start your Christmas list early, list of names you want to buy for & set a budget. 🎁 If buying gifts are not in your budget, choose the gift of time, baking & homemade gifts are always a hit. Not to mention appreciated by your loved ones! _ 2. Set realistic timelines & spread out the tasks, no one can accomplish 50 to dos in a day. This reduces stress & eases the financial pressures. Trying to complete everything the week before Christmas doesn’t work, I tried it one year, learn from my mistakes! _ 3. Christmas parties are a lot of fun but remember, you may not have the time or energy for all. Don’t forget “no thank you” is a reasonable & necessary response, especially last minute invites that stress you out. Politely decline. Saying yes to everything can quickly turn us into a grinch & no one wants that. Best to be on the nice list 🎅🏻 _ 4. Simplify what you can so you can truly relax & enjoy the holidays. Potluck dinners, cookie exchange, gift exchange, shopping online & shipping direct are a few ideas. _ 5. Take care of your health, take care of you! 💙 Self care shouldn’t go out the window & be resurrected in January. I have learnt the hard way, running around like a crazy person, left me stressed & usually sick too, not a good way to spend the holidays. _ Have you tried to simplify the holidays too? ❄️

Thanksgiving is NEXT WEEK! How did that happen?! . Here’s a friendly reminder that even though thanksgiving is a day literally dedicated to eating you don’t have to completely ruin all your hard work and progress. . 1️⃣ Eating healthy the week leading up to Thanksgiving will ensure you don’t gain any unnecessary lbs. . 2️⃣ Eat slow guys! This means take a deep breath in between meals and if you’re scared your crazy uncle is gonna steak all the pie like he does each year. Save a piece and set it aside for yourself. Don’t rush, enjoy your food. . 3️⃣ Start off with the protein 🐷 🦃 ad greens 🥗🥦. It’s better to fill up on those instead of the sweet potatoes and casserole. . 4️⃣ Get in a GREAT workout the morning of. Interval sprints are my go to!! The day after Thanksgiving make sure to put all those calories to use and hit the gym for a nice lift session. . 5️⃣ Just say no. We all have that grandma who pinches our cheeks and basically force feeds us. When you’re full, JUST SAY NO! . 6️⃣ Most important. Enjoy your time with family and loved ones. NO EXCUSE NOVEMBER...It’s a real thing! I make all kinds of excuses for why I can or can not do something. That includes my fitness and nutrition. That especially includes spending 💴 money. Let’s be super honest (I’m doing it so let’s make it the thing to do 😉) we find money to spend on lots of things. I love immediate satisfaction of a new clothing 👗 item (on sale makes it even more exciting), time out with friends 👭 getting coffee ☕️ or dinner 🍽 . But, when it comes to spending money on something that does not provide immediate satisfaction we hem and haw and struggle. It took me time to make the commitment to add the option of working out at home and going all in on my nutrition this past March. But, oh boy am I glad I did!!!
