Throw back to the opening of DRAGONS NEVER DIE. Exhibition still going on in the very jazzy and noir bar The Bodleian on st288, Phnom Penh. Thanks for the gorgeous pics @!
Dragons never die is a collaboration between the abstract paintings of @, the street photography of @ and my own digital manipulated pictures.
From the description text:
Art can be a fruitful method for escaping the past. We can approach what once was, which shape our today's surroundings, using abstraction and imagination as a creative act to reinvent the past and search for the new. New beginnings, new meanings, new aesthetics. In this exhibition photography and painting are used as a way to shape reality into higher degrees of abstraction, taking a creative approach to see the world and dream about new possibilities on it. Starting from street photos, passing through digital manipulated pictures and arriving at stylized paintings where the elegance of shapes conquered the space once inhabitant by the concrete lives and stories of people in the city. What futures can we create if we look around not to see what is there but, more often, to visualize something new we could bring to the world?
Like a dream or a seed towards the future, a dragon never die.
