"Listen! The wind is rising, and the air is wild with leaves" - Humbert Wolfe
It really does feel like Autumn has blown in all of a sudden as we brace ourselves for the 3rd storm in almost as many days after weeks upon weeks of sunshine and warmth. The trees have only just started to turn down in Dorset, and I plan on making a trip to visit this (my most favourite tree) as it puts on this seasons coat.
I only discovered this ancient Oak in the Spring and I promised myself then to spend some time with it this autumn. I took this photograph a couple of weeks ago when my son and I were looking for changing leaves and fallen acorns. We gathered a small handful and I plan to plant them in a specially bought pot this week.
P.S I mentioned this tree in my stories yesterday because voting has begun for Britains Tree of the Year and this 1000 year old Oak has made the made the shortlist. You can pop over to the Woodland Trust's website and vote for your favourite until October 8th.
