• Light, watery or gel like in consistency. • Small molecules. • Can repair and prevent wrinkles, dehydration, hyper-pigmentation and acne by providing hydration and active ingredients such as peptides, vitamins, alpha hydroxy acids and/or hyaluronic acids to the deep layers of the skin's epidermis. ———————————————————————
• Can be light or rich and oily in consistency. • Typically have large molecules but can also be blended to have a variety of sizes. Since some oils have a variety of molecule sizes, they can also be found labeled as serums. • Repairs and prevents free-radical damage, wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation and acne by providing nutrients, antioxidants, moisture and balance to the outer layers of the skin. ———————————————————————
How to Use Serums and Face Oils:
• Apply products in order of consistency, starting with the lightest and ending with heaviest. • Everyone's skin is different so routines will vary. A general routine is: wash, tone, serum, face oil and/or moisturizer and sunblock (if daytime). • Face oils can also be mixed with, placed under or on top of your moisturizer (depending on their consistency). • Sometimes face oils are rich enough that moisturizing can be skipped all together, especially in warm summer months when the skin isn’t as dry.
