For about 10 days, I forgo flowers or plants, and my blanket chest (aka coffee table) is overtaken by these not-too-scary vintage-looking candy buckets. They’re all papier-mâché, but they’re not really old. In fact, a couple of them were purchased at Target, when “vintage Halloween” was having a moment. That was about 20 years ago, tho, so I guess they are kinda old. Another one I found clearanced at Pottery Barn, and the big jack-o-lantern 🎃in the middle came from . . . (I would say “wait for it,” but the Mister hates that expression 😂) Cracker Barrel! That was a while ago, too—15 years? Maybe they *are* all vintage! No, they’re made to look like something much older (and harder to find and therefore more expensive). The little eyeball carriers came from Michaels craft store in the dollar bins a couple of years ago. So, I guess the moral of this story is sometimes a collection of non-antiques comes together the same way a collection of real antiques does—the best finds are often in unexpected places! 🎃 Do you collect any holiday items? Happy hunting!
