In my teens, I was always worried about 'what people thought about me.' Then later on in life, I started to not care anymore 'what people thought about me.' However, now I have realised that people never ‘thought anything about me’ in the first place! Such is the predicament of life. We are constantly worried about what people think of us. In fact, we mostly live in a perception of a perception of ourselves. Here's the trick though when a true friend or mentor comes around to wake us up. We shouldn't see that as a criticism, but rather as a kind gesture from them. Hold on tight to such a friend for they are hard to come by.
