I decided to start a 13 day water fast, in efforts to lose weight 😏 why 13 days? Because I have 2 more days of exams for college and a paper to write, before going on a 9 day break. Deconstructed Shepherd’s Pie - sautéed kale topped with ground beef 🥩 filling & roasted garlic cauliflower mash. 😋 The deep color of the mash comes from the char on the cauliflower florets & the carmelized garlic & onions I threw into the oven with them. I also refrigerated the roasted veggies overnight before blending the mash with butter, olive oil, & cream cheese; which seems to have contributed to the oxidation process.🧐 But whatevs...🤷🏻‍♀️ It was damned delicious‼️😋 . . These are my ketone and blood glucose readings after my VERY 1st 24 hour fast 👏👏👏. . A 24 hour fast might not seem like much to some people, but for me it’s a big deal. . The longest I’ve ever been able to fast was about 18 hours I think. I usually start feeling weak and hangry and have to give in. . I keep hearing people say you shouldn’t have to force a fast, and I finally understand what that means. . I was going for a normal 16 hour fast today, but when the time came to have my coffee I didn’t feel like I needed it. So I kept pushing it back by 2 hours until I made it to 24 hours 🙌👏. . Fasting check-in time! So, I'm at hour 154 (day 6) of my extended fast and I have dropped another 700g bringing my total loss to 5kg 😄 I've been waking up at 3am the past couple of nights and tossing and turning for an hour or so before getting back to sleep. It's been a little annoying, but nothing to warrant breaking my fast. Other than that I'm going strong 💪

The progression of my clothes today! . And listen, when y’all say us Texans are babies with the cold, you’re right! Those of you who’ve been following me know how excited I was to be able to wear a size 16 jeans! Those jeans are now very comfortable. The cardigan I got recently at Target, and the top is also from Target, I bought it last year and it was just too tight. I’m glad I held onto it because it’s super comfy now. Jacket is from Torrid! This hoodie, I’ve had for years and I haven’t tried it on since last year and it’s never been this loose before!! It’s like an actual hoodie now 🤣 . All in all, losing almost 70 pounds has made me love clothes again! Almost 48hrs into my #waterfast. Who else cannot sit still?? Been up and since since 6:30 this morning, think I finally wore myself out cleaning. First time I tried I wound up ripping out all the carpets and rented a dumpster to get rid of all the things I didn't realize had been clogging up my house. I've been slacking lately, cheated a few days baking in preparation for an upcoming vacation, but have still been #OMAD. I haven't gained anything but haven't progressed in my goals, so I've chosen #waterfasting to reset and get back on track. It's insane how good I feel today! 🥘 Fasting Thoughts⁣ ⁣ 🐒 Hey TRIBE!!! 🐒⁣ ⁣ ⏰ I’ve been doing Intermittent Fasting for a couple years on and off. ⁣ ⁣ Recently I’ve become more strict. I downloaded an app and have been tracking daily how long I stay fasted. ⁣ ⁣ I’m averaging about 18 hours with no food, followed by 1 meal, and then I normally start fasting again. ⁣ ⁣ What I’ve discovered is how little food I actually need. Once I hit the button to start fasting and it starts my timer I know I won’t be eating food or at least 16 hours. ⁣ ⁣ Psychologically it’s easier to stay away from food vs. eating clean. ⁣ ⁣ I have cut out a lot of snacking, and unnecessary eating I didn’t realize I was doing. ⁣ ⁣ I finally have less craving for bad carbs and sugars that I once couldn’t stay away from. ⁣ ⁣ I don’t freak out like I once did about not being able to eat. I now know I can go 24 hours with no food, still train 2-3 times a day, and I won’t DIE!!⁣ ⁣ Another surprise is how many times I hit a 24 hour mark without food and have no negative impact on how I feel or performance in daily and athletic endeavors. ⁣ ⁣ In fact, I feel I perform better across the board when I’m a little bit hungry. I have more mental clarity and a feeling of hyper focus. I have more energy when I train believe it or not, and I feel leaner and lighter. ⁣ ⁣ What I have learned ultimately is what you track gets measured, and what gets measured gives immediate feedback on what your goal is. ⁣ ⁣ Do you ever FAST on purpose?⁣ ⁣ - Keep Moving Forward

Wild Salmon, a mound of green veg, and a nice helping of butter! Grateful for the fat fasting info from @idmprogram to get me back on track after a week of sickness and eating off plan. Najbliższe półtora miesiąca to dla mnie moment, w którym chcę zrealizować jedno główne założenie dotyczące postów na ten rok. Będzie to dla mnie wyzwanie, stąd mentalnie przygotowywałam się do tego dość długo, fizycznie przygotowania rozpoczęłam dziś, na początek będzie to 10 dni postu dr Dąbrowskiej, potem 4 dni wyjazdu urlopowego w góry, więc prawdopodobnie poprostu dieta lekka na podtrzymanie i część główna rozpocznie się w listopadzie. Jeśli wszystko pójdzie zgodnie z założeniami, to relację podrzucę dopiero po wszystkim, aby w trakcie nie zaburzać tego wewnętrznego stanu wyciszenia.
