I got scanned and the results say I am officially 18.3% bodyfat 😎 That’s the LOW end of average my friends. So the crunch of the base was 3/4 of a Romaine lettuce, handful of hot radishes, a little yellow pepper, 3 cherry toms to be precise, third of a red onion, half a hand of assorted spiced olives. Dressing was simple as it’s topped with Peri Peri turkey breast roasted last night, that was an easy prep also, breast soaked in lemon juice, dry Peri Peri Tesco’s dry herb, pinch of sea salt an a splash of rapeseed oil, ... last nights as I said but a 20 min bake on 200degs. A good handful of soft goats cheese, dressing was a mere virgin olive oil, tbs, and a dessertspoon of fresh squeezed lemon on top... easy peasy lemon was squeeze. Oh... MY GOD. Have you ever had one of those days when NOTHING seems to go your way and EVERYTHING is annoying AF?? Welcome to my life right this second. If you were to ask me what was wrong right now my first response would be that I’m suuuuper frustrated because my stupid phone won’t let me download any of my pics from my iCloud. If you know me at all, you know I am not tech savvy. How I managed to win a President’s trip to Maui while selling computers and storage to medium/large businesses will always baffle me... I’ve tried restarting my phone, removing data from my storage, downloading iCloud for Windows on my PC, and about a million other things, but I still can’t get one single photo to edit. Now this wouldn’t be such a big deal if I wasn’t already stressed out over deeper issues. Like how I feel so, so far away from where I wanted to be at this point in my life. Wait, what? You went from being pissed about not downloading a picture to feeling like your life is a failure? Yes. Yes, I did. We are our worst critics. And it can be hard to celebrate the small victories we get when our ultimate goal seems so far away. ESPECIALLY when we feel like we’re doing everything right and working so fucking hard. And that’s how I feel right now. And the fact that I can’t download a damn picture is only making it 1 billion times worse! So I’m going to breathe. Snap a quick selfie and step away from my phone so I don’t throw it up against the wall. Tomorrow will be a new day, with new challenges. 'get a leaner belly in 21 days!' Etc. So let's clear this up once and for all; spot reduction is a myth and does not work. ~ Spot reduction refers to the fallacy that fat can be targeted for reduction from a specific area. This is a myth. Studies largely show that it is not possible to reduce fat in one area by exercising that body part alone. ~ Instead, fat is lost from the entire body as a result of diet and regular exercise. Muscle growth in the abdominal region does not reduce fat in that region. Instead, being on a caloric deficit is recommended for reducing abdominal fat. ~ So there we have it, if you wish to lose that stubborn belly fat you know what to do; create a calorie deficit.

REFEED DAYS, IT’S LIKE THE SAME THING AS A CHEAT DAY! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ✋🏼 Slow your role there honey-child because that’s FAR from the truth. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🤤 When we’re in a caloric deficit, one of the biggest motivators is when we have a day where we get to enjoy more food & catch that “mental break” from dieting. However, it is not a day to go off the deep end and eat uncontrollably and consume everything in sight.⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Refeed day vs Cheat day: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 📊 Refeeds are temporary increases primarily to carbs during the dieting phase that are pre-planned or auto regulated and there are still macronutrient targets that need to be tracked and achieved for that day. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 🍪 Cheat days are eating at ones pleasure while not focusing on any target macronutrients & not driven by negative emotions, not to be confused with binge eating. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 🍽 During a fat loss phase, refeed days have their place & purpose. Physiological purposes are to help decrease the negative effects of dieting by aiding to our hormones, while decreasing cortisol levels. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ❓ When to implement refeeds during your fat loss - there are a couple of options here. You can plan to have refeed days every “x” number of day(s) while incorporating it on days where you train a certain muscle group that you feel needs to be brought up (not on a day where you’re training a muscle group where you tend to hold more body fat), or you can auto regulate it and go off of feel & performance within the gym. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 🤘🏼 Having that increase of (controlled) calories can help lower your body fat levels while promoting some recovery from diet, and isn’t a day to go off the deep end and eat uncontrollably. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ 🤔 Hitting a plateau in your fat loss? Paleo pumpkin chocolate chip bread 😍🧡 . Macros per serving ➡️ 27 C / 16 F / 13 P . Ingredients: . 1 1/2 cup of almond flour 1 tsp baking soda 1/2 tsp salt 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice 1 tsp cinnamon 4 eggs 1/4 cup maple syrup 3/4 cup canned pumpkin 1tsp vanilla 3/4 cup Lily's or Enjoy Life chocolate chips . Directions: . 1. Preheat oven to 350F and add parchment paper or coconut oil spray to loaf pan 2. In a large bowl, mix almond flour, baking soda, spices, and salt 3. Whisk eggs in a separate bowl, then add maple syrup, pumpkin, and vanilla 4. Mix all ingredients together in the large bowl 5. Add chocolate chips 6. Bake for 50 minutes 7. Let it cool and enjoy!

#transformationtuesday My bikini prep journey👙 Picture on the left weight 137lb just returned from vacation and splurged the entire weekend before I began prep😬🙈 I was holding water and fat obviously😹 Picture on the right was taken the day before my show at my lowest weight 116lb(hence my homeless look)😜 I lost 21lbs😱 Body fat is hard to accurately measure but I believe I lost about 7%. I prepped for 15 weeks to be stage lean. ⚠DISCLAIMER⚠ You should never try to get this lean or think this is a healthy/normal body composition. Is competition prep extreme? YES! Is competition prep healthy? NO! What you don't see is how the body responds and feels to eating very low calories and extremely rigorous exercise.This starts to negatively impact your body. You're HUNGRY, irritable, exhausted, sore, food obsessed and have little to no libido. You spend countless hours in the gym and basically have no time for anything or anyone else. So why did I do it!? I was ready mentally and physically to challenge myself. I craved something more and knew this was exactly what I wanted to accomplish. The physical demands of prep have given me so much personal growth and for that I'm, grateful🙏 Discipline builds character💯Am I crazy enough to do it again? Five races this year and five PB’s ! 😱 • What a day on Sunday. Crossing the finish line in 1:29:13 and personal best by almost 5 minutes had me smiling ear to ear. I finally hit the sub 1:30 goal that I had been chasing since my first half marathon. I even had time to steal a kiss from @erikaarff during it ! 🏃 • It wasn’t easy out there and in a sense I am glad it wasn’t. I grinded it out, my body didn’t have much in it after 12k. What kept me going was thinking “diabetes doesn’t quit, so neither will I” while running on behalf of @teamdiabetesdc . You can either dwell on the negatives or look to the positives and I am glad @thomaswilliamcookson / @powder77 /Coach @runnerslifeptbo helped put yesterday’s accomplishment into perspective. 😬 • I really appreciated the support and the donations from everyone. $2175 dollars raised is truly incredible! It meant a ton to support such a great cause & on behalf of someone and something that had such a huge meaning behind it. From the bottom of my heart I thank you all and am sending much love your ways. ❤️ • The #stwm atmosphere as per usual was amazing. Amazing to see so many great runners including Runners Life own have great days out on the course. I can’t wait to get back to work and see what lies ahead!

The last time I did these mile reps at my running club was before I did the London Marathon. I did four in total that day and my last rep was 6 minutes 40. Fast forward to 2018 and i could barely make it round in under 12 minutes. But I won’t complain too much because I haven’t seen a 11 on my watch in so long either. i definitely felt like I could have done another rep but didn’t want to push it too much especially fasted. “At 46 and 53 years old we didn’t believe we could be in the shape we are in...Now We Do!” -Joe (53) and Anya (46) California ❗️16 WEEKS LATER❗️ - When Joe first approached me he was sitting at 223 lbs with addiction that consumed his every move. With His sobriety journey He wanted to step on stage in the best shape of his life. We went Above and Beyond and with transparency and communication were able to accomplish this! - As Joe was going through the process, Anya at 194 had stalled in her weightloss and felt like nothing she was doing would ever work sustainably. We worked to prove that belief wrong! - Joe’s BIGGEST CHALLENGES from a Nutrition Perspective: 🚫With an Old school mentality, he felt that chicken and broccoli was the only way to do it. ➡️We set up Meals that he looked forward to, yielding very similar results to that old school way of thinking. 🚫His downfall was the weekend “cheat meals” that would turn to “cheat days”. ➡️I set him up with high carb, high calorie days strategically to kill cravings and minimize the damage those “cheat days” had (not just physically but mentally). - Anya’s BIGGEST CHALLENGES from a Nutrition Perspective: 🚫She would under-eat and over do it with an hour of cardio every day, leading to her body preserving itself thus leading to binges. ➡️I showed her that carbs were not the enemy when they are used for fuel and we cut her cardio from an hour a day to 20 mins max (HIIT training)...this ended the binge episodes. 🚫Her downfall was also the weekend “cheat meals” that would turn to “cheat days”. ➡️We worked hands on to create recipes that killed the different cravings she would have each weekend. - I am extremely passionate about pouring into each journey as if it were my own. Happy Monday everyone 💁🏻‍♀️ Today I spent the spent the day resting as my body is in BITS🙃🤣. This picture was taken at my last training sesh on Sat, before I tore a muscle in my bicep which I can now no longer move 🤗 - After taking a break from training due to holiday/lots of things going on in my person life etc, realistically I should of taken it easy with how much weight I was working with and should of gone down in weights compared to what I normally do... stupidly I thought naaah I’ll be okay and well obviously it was too much for my body after weeks of no training, and That resulted in my pulled muscle. Happy days 🤣 but I guess we live and learn aye 🤷🏻‍♀️ - The best thing to do if we over work our muscles, acquire an injury, are in a lot more pain than usual etc is rest. We need to listen to our bodies and not force them. Even if it might mean not being able to train for a while, its better than forcing our bodies and causing even more injuries or problems. 🤕 - Just embrace rest days and allow your body to heal🌚🌚🌚.
