YOU GUYS!!!! What is actually happening right now?!!!! I’m honestly shook. I really thought that I was done losing weight. I don’t mean that negatively I just thought I was at the maintaining part of my journey! My whole mind is completely blown right now! I don’t even know how it’s possible like.... WHAT?! This is just a blessing on top of a blessing. Last week I had lost a pound and to lose another is truly a gift from God. I don’t know why it’s happening I’m just going to be thankful! I know my body is going through a lot of changes and will always fluctuate up and down water weight but I have NEVER been this deep into the 150’s... I started this journey to lose 265 pounds. I accepted that I may never reach my goal but that I might stay around 250 pounds lost. I’m so thankful right now. I’m happy that I walked that two and a half miles today. I’m thankful I didn’t eat the bread on my cheeseburger even though it was perfectly toasted and yes. I’m thankful for all of you. I’m thankful. Just a wow. Thank you for loving me and pushing me to keep fighting this good fight! I don’t know if I’ll lose anymore weight after this I just know this is a milestone nonetheless! I love you guys! TRACKING MACROS by @destinationnutrition - This morning I covered how to determine your macros, this afternoon I shared a bad ass recipe, so naturally how to track macros is the next step! • • Tracking macros is a pretty important step as you can imagine. I mean what’s the point in figuring them out if you aren’t going to track them?! Accurate tracking can seem like a tedious task at first, but do it long enough and eventually you won’t think twice about it. • • How do you track accurately? The first step is to download an app to input all your food into. @myfitnesspal and @loseitapp are two of the most popular options. I personally use MyFitnessPal to track my macros. • • Next, get a food scale so you can measure everything accurately. One of the most important things you can do is to be consistent with your tracking. If you weigh your meats raw, make sure to track them as so. The same can be said for cooked foods. There’s a big difference between 56g of dry pasta and 56g of cooked pasta. Most food labels list the macros of the food in its uncooked state. • • Once you’ve got those things down, it’s just piecing your day together to make your numbers work for you! Again, it can seem daunting at first, but do it enough times and it’ll feel weird when you *don’t* do it! • • If you’ve got any questions or comments on tracking, macros, or want any help just let me know! We get invited over to the neighbor’s for dinner, our little sister’s wedding is this weekend, Thanksgiving roll around, it’s your birthday….you name it. # There will always be something in the path to cause a few bumps. And honestly, that’s what keeps things interesting, right?! :) # We have two choices- we can either A) Have an all or nothing approach and once that first bump hits, we give up. # —or— # B) We look for ways to minimize damage, shake ourselves off, wake up tomorrow and move on. # Think of it this way:: if you stub your toe, do you cut off your whole foot? Absolutely not! # What IS important is your mindset when you aren’t in control- do you freak out and feel and like you’ve totally ruined your progress? - ⠀ 👋🏼Hi hi! Do you love coffee? Cause I do! But drinking liquid calories is one of the easiest ways to sabotage your fat loss efforts. And coffee is a sneaky one! 👹 ⠀ ☕️Black coffee is only 0-5 calories. BUT... did you know that once you start adding milk, sweeteners, and whipped cream, you could end up consuming as many calories as you would for a whole meal?! ⠀ 🍶If you’re someone who loves milk and sugar in your coffee but are trying to lose fat, here are some options to make it a lower calorie choice so you stay in a calorie deficit. ⠀ 🥛THE MILK: most coffee drinks include whole milk or at least 2% milk, lots of added calories! ⠀ ☝🏼THE FIX? Switch to skim milk, almond milk, coconut or soy milk to save 50-100 calories. ⠀ 🍭THE SUGAR: lots of coffees are loaded with sugar, sometimes without you asking! 1 pump of sweetener is +/- 20 calories. Drinks usually have 2-6 pumps (that’s 40-120 calories of sugar!). ⠀ ☝🏼THE FIX? Ask for the sugar free version (if you’re against artificial sweeteners, then sorry, can’t help you). I wish I could honestly say that I don’t like the taste of Sucralose to you all, but the reality is that it takes VERY good almost too good....this is because Sucralose is a chemically engineered sugar that is 600 times the sweetness of table sugar with zero calories. This ingredient has 3 chlorine molecules due to a hydroxyl substitution. ✨ ✨ ✨ The reason it is calorie free is because the body identifies the chlorine atoms as a toxic substance and passes it directly through the small intestine and it’s not absorbed into the blood stream. Sucralose is excreted from the body as a toxin. Without going in depth into the biochemistry, there has never been a reported death due to Sucralose consumption however there is limited safety data on the long term effects of this ingredient. ✨ ✨ ✨ The question is should you use it? I’ve recently moved away from this ingredient in the last few years and many others due to personal preferences as I no longer feel comfortable introducing chlorine into my system when there are safer alternatives. The problem is that food manufacturers use this ingredient due to consumer demand for foods that fit an overly sweet flavor profile and most aren’t used to a lighter more natural taste. If people don’t like the way their food tastes, they are less likely to comply with their nutrition plan, even if that means safety could be a risk. ✨ ✨ ✨ The take away is that you should always question calorie free and/or low calorie foods as they typically have the most processing and chemical modification. Been feeling super unmotivated these past few weeks and I have no idea why. I took last week and didn’t follow a program but just went into the gym and did whatever I felt like doing. I took an extra rest day but I still felt burnt out. - Despite feeling like 💩 I woke up this morning extremely happy with how this cut is going (ignore my just woke up face 🙃) I have been 95% with my diet and it’s really paying off. Sure some days I have went off a bit and struggled but the next day I was already ready to get back on track. It takes a ton of dedication and that’s the first thing you have to be committed to before trying to make some sort of lifestyle change. If you go off of plan just make sure you get right back to it and don’t stress too much over it! - Today I start my new programming with @teamforsaken which definitely gave me some of my motivation back and I can’t wait to see whats to come! 🤗💪🏼

BUT... did you know that once you start adding milk, sweeteners, and whipped cream, you could end up consuming as many calories as you would for a whole meal?! ⠀ 🍶If you’re someone who loves milk and sugar in your coffee but are trying to lose fat, here are some options to make it a lower calorie choice so you stay in a calorie deficit. ⠀ 🥛THE MILK: most coffee drinks include whole milk or at least 2% milk, lots of added calories! ⠀ ☝🏼THE FIX? Switch to skim milk, almond milk, coconut or soy milk to save 50-100 calories. ⠀ 🍭THE SUGAR: lots of coffees are loaded with sugar, sometimes without you asking! 1 pump of sweetener is +/- 20 calories. Drinks usually have 2-6 pumps (that’s 40-120 calories of sugar!). ⠀ ☝🏼THE FIX? Ask for the sugar free version (if you’re against artificial sweeteners, then sorry, can’t help you). 2️⃣ ways to achieve your fitness goals What I really hope you take from this post is this: 1️⃣To lose fat you need to be in a consistent calorie deficit. Which means eating less calories than you would need to maintain your physique. Eating low-cal, nutrient dense foods is the best way to blunt hunger while maintaining your deficit 2️⃣To build muscle you need to be in a consistent calorie surplus. Which means sometimes you’re probably going to be full and still need to eat even if you aren’t hungry. Which is totally fine. Just make sure to focus on high-cal, nutrient dense foods so you can get all your calories in while making it seem like you’re constantly eating No need to make things complicated. CAULIFLOWER RICE ARANCINI⠀ INGREDIENTS:⠀ 1 Italian chicken sausage link, casing removed (2 3/4 oz)⠀ 2 1/4 cups riced cauliflower⠀ 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt⠀ 2 tablespoons homemade marinara ⠀ 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella⠀ 1 large egg, beaten⠀ 1/4 cup bread crumbs⠀ 1 tablespoon grated parmesan⠀ cooking spray⠀ DIRECTIONS:⠀ Heat a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sausage and cook, breaking the meat up with spoon as it cooks as small as you can, about 4 to 5 minutes.⠀ Add the cauliflower, salt and marinara and cook 6 minutes on medium heat, stirring until the cauliflower is tender and heated through.⠀ Remove from heat and add the mozzarella cheese to the skillet and stir well to mix. Let it cool 3 to 4 minutes, until it’s easy to handle.⠀ Spray a 1/4 cup measuring cup with cooking spray and fill with cauliflower mixture, leveling the top. Use a small spoon to scoop out into your palm and roll into a ball. Set aside on a dish.⠀ Repeat with the remaining cauliflower, you should have 6 balls.⠀ Place the egg in one bowl and the breadcrumbs in another.⠀ Add the parmesan to the crumbs and mix.⠀ Dip the ball in the egg, then in the crumbs and transfer to a baking sheet. . You Don’t Need a “Reset.” You Need a Plan. —— Recently I had someone reach out to ask my opinion on a body “reset” plan they found... ⠀ This wasn’t just some random person either. This was someone who’d been following me for a very long time. ⠀ By this point, they knew my message by heart... ⠀ They know about Calories ⚖️ They know about Macros 📊 They know the 80/20 Rule 🥗🍕 They know Consistency > Perfection 🔄 Yadda yadda ya... ⠀ Yet still, they messaged me asking if they should consider using a cleanse, detox, or special diet to “reset” their body for fat loss... ⠀ Listen. ⠀ Your body is an incredible thing. ⠀ It doesn’t need you to do its job or “prime” it for fat loss. ⠀ What it DOES need is for you to help out by eating nutritious foods (most of time time) and staying active. ⠀ Most folks know all that too... ⠀ They know another cleanse or detox isn’t the answer. Chocolate Protein Waffles We all love pancakes and waffles. Speed up your sessions with supersets ⏱ ⬇️ I've never been one for spending extended periods of time in the gym, that's why supersets became a favourite of mine early in my training career. And I love the pumped feeling they give you💪 ⬇️ Traditional supersets target the agonist - antagonist muscle relationship (opposing muscle groups). To perform this type of super set perform a set of one exercise i.e chest press, and then immediately perform a set of another exercise targeting the opposing muscle group i.e dumbbell row. ⬇️ I like to break my supersets down into the following movement patterns ➡️ vertical push and pull (i.e. shoulder press and lat pull down) ➡️ horizontal push and pull (as shown above) ➡️ flexion ams extension (i.e. bicep curl and tricep pushdown / leg extension and leg curl ➡️ squat/lunge movements and hip hinges i.e romanian deadlifts. ⬇️ Similar to PHA training we talked about before, supersets can also be performed using totally different muscle groups or either extremety. Either way, supersets are a great way to increase your output without having to spend more time in the gym.
