A year ago, I truly believed I was days to weeks from losing my best friend.... I started him on CBD and then added Copaiba Essential oil. He was on this combo for about 8 months. Happy, Saturday 💕💕⠀ ⠀ Lets talking eating habits for a minute. ⠀ -⠀ I know many people who start their fitness journey, only to gain the weight right back. Some of that is attributed to eating habits. Nutrition and exercise go together! You can’t be successful in your fitness journey without proper nutrition. ⠀ -⠀ I know it’s hard to stay away from your favorite fast food or dessert, but it’s necessary. It takes a bit of discipline to make this happen. Here are a couple tips that I have used myself. ⠀ -⠀ 1️⃣ Use healthy food substitutes. For example, instead of eating milk chocolate, eat dark chocolate (it’s rich in antioxidants). Use sea salt vs. regular salt. Use olive oil vs. canola oil. You get the idea! ⠀ ⠀ 2️⃣ Make the decision NOT to buy sodas or other sugary drinks. Not buying it will help you avoid it. ⠀ ⠀ You know the saying, “out of site, out of mind.” ⠀ ⠀ 3️⃣ Learn how to satisfy your cravings without going overboard. Let’s say, you’re craving french fries. Ok, if you decide to get the fries, get the smallest size possible. Typically, you reserve this for your TREAT day (a day to treat yourself after exercising and eating right for a specified amount of time). ⠀ ⠀ 4️⃣ Acknowledge and accept your weaknesses (because we all have them). Own the fact that you have a weakness for sweets, fried chicken, white bread, etc. You can’t overcome your weaknesses until your acknowledge them! Once you ID your weaknesses, you know what to stay away from! ⠀ ⠀ 5️⃣ Pack healthy snacks! This is something I do during the week and on the weekends. Let’s say you’re running errands one Saturday. Before you leave the house, pack an apple, beef jerky, protein bar, etc, and take it with you. You want these snacks so you will avoid going through the drive through when you realize you’re hungry. The goal is to satisfy your hunger until you get home and can fix a well-balanced meal. ⠀ -⠀ Which of these tips will you try?

Stayed up working til 11:30 last night and working more on this Saturday morning 🤓 . Why? Because LOVE my job. And it doesn’t even feel like work 🙊 . When I feel overwhelmed and don’t understand classwork, that’s when I want to work harder to learn and understand... not settle for what’s easier and what I already know. . Yes, weekends should be for rest. But I don’t want to confuse necessary recharging with indulging in laziness or apathy. Let’s see if I can find the tangible difference 😝💪🏻 . . Hotel Gym Workout ✅ . Anyone else feel like hotel gyms are intentionally designed to feel like a dungeon 😳🛡⚔️ I groaned when I walked into the hotel gym this morning and saw the sparse equipment and small space. Alas I got creative and made it work! Leaving the gym sweaty and sore after a back/bicep workout 💪🏋️‍♀️ Now I’m done for the day and ready to go be a tourist in Richmond, VA 🌎 . Dungeon Hotel Gym Workout: I superset these exercises, which means I did the first exercise and immediately started the second exercise. Alrighty it’s time for some FIT TIP FRIDAY - this one is about finding BALANCE 💕 Have you ever had people tell you if you want to lose the weight, you have to restrict your eating? No more sweets, no more cookies, no more ice cream, or the horror, no more alcohol?? Is that even doable? Well actually yes it totally is BUT is it fun? Is it sustainable? When I first started dating Leo, I packed my food to take to his house on the weekend, I was weighing and measuring everything, eating every 2-3 hours, drinking my water from my obnoxious gallon jug and I was consumed and ruled by my eating. I’m sure he was thinking WTF have I gotten myself into 🤣🤪. But he stuck with me and supported me through it all. My ‘coach’ had me under eating and over exercising. I was EXHAUSTED mentally, physically and emotionally. Stepping on stage was sooo much fun but at what expense? After my shows that year, I promised to take some time off so we could enjoy life as a new couple. And I have to say, I haven’t looked back. Now that doesn’t mean I eat donuts and McDonald’s every day BUT it means I have learnt to live a life of BALANCE. Yesterday was my birthday and I had a salad bowl from Chipotle. Kinda healthy with brown rice, corn, beans, lettuce, avocado, and cheese and I ate that because that’s what I enjoy not because it’s a salad and I’m watching my weight 🤪. I then went on to have a big slice of Hershey chocolate cake and then went out for drinks with the girls. BALANCE!!!! I woke up this morning with a slight headache (thank you dehydration 😩) so started the morning off with some rehydrating and a good breakfast of oatmeal and eggs. My point here? If you are a choc-a-holic, eat some chocolate BUT learn how to do it in moderation. You have to find a way of eating (I hate the word DIET) that is sustainable for you. That’s when you have the greatest chance of being successful. Today’s the last day to sign up for our challenge. We start MONDAY!! Very excited to have started @healthyandpsyched Finding Balance With Food course this week. I think many people could benefit from some education and reflection on their relationship with food, but even more so those of us who have to restrict our diets due to illness. The guilt and shame of eating “bad” food when trying to diet is one thing, but those feelings are multiplied and become part of your daily existence when managing an illness triggered by food. I’ve been very aware of my relationship with food becoming problematic as I’ve restricted my diet more and more (due to trial and error with my illness, or the eternal diet culture I’ve lived within), but I haven’t known how to control or balance this. The first week of this course focused on our story - our relationship with food, it’s impact on our lives and our thoughts up to now, and looking forward to what we hope to achieve from the course. You are worthy and enough just as you are. Even if you have gained weight, are binge eating or feel powerless around your weight. YOU ARE ENOUGH RIGHT NOW. But you also get to have your desire around your body/food situation. I was an emotional eater/chronic dieter. I was sick of fluctuating in weight and feeling embarrassed about it. I was sick of having so many rules around food. I was sick of being so fearful around carbs and feeling like certain foods made me fat. I was sick of cravings ruling my day. I was sick of binge eating when I let go of control with my dieting. Whatever YOUR desire you get to have it. You could be binge eating right now, gaining weight rapidly or trying every diet and still not succeeded. It doesn't matter where you are now, in 1 year or 6 months, even 3 months you could be in COMPLETELY different place. If you don't let your past determine your future. If you don't let others beliefs about you hold you back. You not succeeding yet has nothing to do with your future ability to succeed. Behind the scenes/Areas I can improve upon: I usually feel so confident taking pictures at sunset, they usually are my most crisp pictures. I struggled here with my tripod because a part on what holds the camera broke at some point. I also struggled with focusing while it is on a timer. I also had a lot of anxiety because where I took these actually has a lot of traffic passing by and it made me anxious that people were looking, but nonetheless I loved getting to share this moment with Holly and she is the best little helper I could ask for!

Favorite novels?? . I need your advice! What are your favorite books and I’m not talking about all the business and personal development books in this photo...I’ve got that covered and can give you all my favorites and why😉👍 . I read these books ALL THE TIME and will continue too daily but lately I’ve been craving a good novel... . There’s something so indulgent and wonderful about getting lost in a good story and I’ve been craving it but I have no books!! . I don’t really watch TV- and have to admit I’m a total PG kind of girl so this goes for books too- sort of.... . My husband thinks it needs to be Disney🤔 But I do like some suspense at times and I even like some good fantasy... - it just has to end well...this is important and make fun of me all you want but here’s the thing... . I have a really hard time separating myself from feeling all the feels of a character - which is probably why I don’t watch TV much. . If I’m going to suspend my disbelief and fall into a good story- I want to feel GOOD. . And yes- I do want it to end well- there doesn’t have to be 🌈 rainbows and 🦄 but you know? . I know I've posted this pic before but I made a few discoveries tonight like a few missing pieces to life. Some great, some sad, and some wishes. After a long but fun, busy day and Nick had gone to bed but not asleep. I'm missing my mini me, so I picked up her box of letters/gifts and something fell, puzzle piece 1, that has been MIA, so I ran it up, he wasn't asleep, and had him put the piece in. Said goodnight again. Came back down and as I sit here reading thru her Book of Info, I find the other missing piece, run it up to him. He's super happy, now we can finish setting it to glue and frame, he went to bed. The last missing piece, that I wish to find one day again, is that special someone to sit on the couch with, and watch TV, or curl up and shoot the breeze with at the end of a busy day.. Are your weekend plans anything like mine? Comfy clothes and staying at home. Go out for a couple of hours Saturday, just to say I did. . For a long time, my weekends were solely spent recovering from being around people at work all week - . Until that didn't work anymore. At some point, about 6 months ago, I started noticing: . 🌟How anxious I got on Sunday evening because the next day was Monday. . 🌟How I'd sit in my car until the VERY last minute before going in to work. . 🌟How long my bathroom breaks were getting #legsgoingnumb I know you're at that point now, and there's nothing wrong with you for feeling that way. You don't need to feel like you're dragging your feet to work every day. I also know how hard it is to hear that and think you could ACTUALLY make a change for yourself. I know, it's easier said that done. BUT take me as proof. You dont need to jump ship and quit your job to make a difference. Joining a movement + a community and taking small steps towards my dream life has made me feel so fulfilled. Knowing that I'm on my way there helps going to work not suck so much. Do I still have to go in? Yes. But I KNOW it's not forever. In fact, leaving is going to be much sooner than I ever would have thought. Remember I'm only 2 steps ahead of you.
