Baby Japanese macaque in hot spring, 2018 🐒
I love primates! Especially monkeys. I have an expensive Biological Anthropology degree to prove it. While I do pay student loans on the reg to remind me of it, I am not an actual anthropologist. I would love to dive back into it but my career has gone in a totally different direction, which I'm happy about but it's hard to let go of my dreams to live in a forest as a researcher. So to feel close to it for now, I'm working on finally coloring the myriad of primates I've drawn over the years!
My favorite monkey is the Japanese macaque, also known as Snow Monkeys. Their thick fur allows them to live in extreme cold temperatures as low as -4 degrees Fahrenheit. Very unusual for non human primates! They're incredibly smart n have been known to wash their food before they eat it. Aren't they amazing?! I dream to go to Jigokudani Monkey Park one day 🐵
