Road Tripper in Training 🚘
Prepping for our first overnight trip, one step at a time! We’re dying to get out of the city to my family’s cottage to escape with the baby for a little while. BUT Shane and I are two of the most disorganized and forgetful people I know. In order to actually be successful at something, we need to seriously plan ahead and go over things like 100 times before we “got it“, so we’re using Lucy as an excuse to become more organized and thought out. Until we make it to Muskoka, we’re trying to do as many day trips closer to home as we can, both for fun and to act as trial runs 😂. Yesterday, we made it to Longpoint Lodge before taking a quick walk on the 42km stretch of beautiful beach 🏝. So in the next little while: beaches, small towns, vineyards, dusty country roads – we’re coming for ya!
I thought I used to pack my purse heavy... holy 💩. A diaper bag is no joke! I’m trying to keep things light, and maintain a “necessary items only” rule (my lip products def still qualify under this😉). What I’ve got so far:
2 muslin blankets, one package of wipes, several diapers, a couple plastic bags (to store diapers when we’re on the move, til we find a garbage!), travel sized diaper cream, her soother, a few burp cloths, nursing pads, lanolin, a hat, extra outfit, and my wallet. I think that’s packing light? What crucial thing am I missing? What do you guys do dirty diapers after use them, and before you find a garbage?
