...“Plenty more fish in the sea," they'll say, or "Birds of a feather flock together," or "Can you pass the salt?" They never really understand, because they haven't been there, every day, every hour. They don’t know your journey. They don’t know the story behind the band on your ankle. They don't know the way things have been, the mountains you climbed, the bullets you dodged and the way it has structured your world. .
They don't understand your migrant journey, the background, they don't know the forest of memories that you built your nest of hopes upon. .
Everyone's alone in their world because no earthly being will truly understand but if we reach out and listen to peoples life stories we just might get a glimpse into world. One of survival and hope. .
In a world right now that is afraid to tell their story I dare you to tell yours. Be proud of the journey be proud of what you have or WILL overcome. You never know your band could bring hope and knowledge for generations to come.
