During my team’s weekly goal-setting call last night, I said that my fitness goal for this week was to have a better attitude about exercise. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The last couple weeks it’s been SO HARD for me to keep showing up and I’ve found myself understanding better every day why the holidays are when people typically push “pause” on their health. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ This morning when my alarm went off I felt energized and excited to work out for the first time in ages! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Started a new calendar with a mashup of workouts from all of my favorite trainer’s programs to get ready for his new one that starts Jan 14 and it was 👌🏼 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The fact that I needed zero equipment and could fit everything in this little hallway was just a bonus. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Happy Monday, beautiful people! Hope yours starts with as much life as mine did!

I have so many places I want to see & so much I want to do. I've lived my entire 28 years of life all within a 3 hours radius. My. Entire. Life. We didnt take family trips when I was a kid. 2 rest days and still got some abs! . No, I don’t recommend doing this all the time. . But sometimes you just need to take some time to rest and relax. . You need to take time and be with your family and friends. . Don’t let fitness and working out take over your life. . It should be a part of your life. . And if it is, when you take a day or two 🙈 off, it won’t completely derail you from your goals. . You won’t snowball back towards your old bad habits. . When you’re living a healthy lifestyle and you do take time to rest, you’re still eating healthy. . You do this because it’s now a habit. . You enjoy it and it’s part of your life. . So in reality, a rest day or cheat day, isn’t a horrible thing. . It helps keep you on track the rest of the week. . Your muscles need that rest time to recover. . And you gave yourself a chance to unwind and loosen the reigns a bit. . So that when the week starts and you’re back on track, you’re more motivated than ever. . If you always stick to a strict meal plan all the time, you’re not very likely to stay with it for life. . Allow yourself to rest and relax without going overboard. . As long as you’re staying on track and working hard the rest of the time or week, a cheat day is ok. . So let me ask you, what’s you’re favorite cheat meal?? . Christmas Protein Balls: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ • 2 scoops Vegan Vanilla Shakeology • 1 cup peanut butter • 1/2 cup oats • 2 Tbsp Vanilla Almond Milk ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Mix, form into balls, dip in sprinkles, chill in fridge ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Made these as a snack for the week, but I’m not sure we’ll have any left by tomorrow morning!

Meal prep Sunday! . Today I take some time and make my meals for the week. . One thing that I make sure I include is protein! . Over the past several weeks, I’ve realized that I wasn’t eating enough food, but especially protein. . So I bumped it up and have been including more protein with each meal. . I’ve noticed a huge difference. . I’m less hungry throughout the day, which means I’m in a better mood (not hangry at all 😜). . My muscles are also becoming more toned and defined. . I definitely will continue to eat more protein at each meal. . My go to proteins are ground turkey, chicken, and eggs. . For breakfast, I make egg muffins with ground turkey and veggies in them. . For morning snack, I have a protein shake because it’s quick and easy, and I can continue to teach while I’m drinking it. . For lunch, I have chicken along with veggies and quinoa. . For my afternoon snack, I have another protein shake for the same reason as before. . And for dinner, I’ll have ground turkey with veggies and Banza pasta. . This Everything But The Bagel seasoning from @traderjoes is amazing! I put it on so many different things! . By taking time on Sunday to plan and prepare each meal for the week, and make sure I’m getting in protein, I alleviate having to cook during the week when it can get crazy busy. . I am setting myself up for success right away, at the start of the week. . What are your favorite types of protein? . Y’all! I was SO thrilled to see Shaun T live and to take this picture with him! My first introduction to the fitness/nutrition system that I do at home was one of his programs. I started it but was super intimidated and didn’t complete the program initially. Honestly my mind wasn’t in it and I just did a ton of self-sabotage. . Sunday Runday Funday: 22km Trail Run with these legends today @sydneytrailcrew 🏃🏻‍♂️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏼‍♀️🏃🏻‍♂️ We ran from Taronga Zoo to Manly. It was hot 🔥 It was humid 💦 It was hilly ⛰ But boy was it scenic ! 😍 My training for @6ft_marathon is going well ! 💪🏼👊🏼🏃🏼‍♀️😊 Slowly building up my distance every Sunday by 10% has worked well for me and this was my longest run in 6 months! Trail running is alot harder than road running and you use different muscle groups, therefore I’m stoked with what I’ve achieved so far.
