I hate evening workouts. But lately (since having my third baby 7 months ago) it's been the only real time to get my weights in. #tbt to the @chimarathon almost two whole weeks ago! The closest I have ever come to euphoria is when I crossed that finish line loves! I was literally giddy with laughter! . The race was hard for me. It poured on us, soaking every article of clothing I wore. I fell behind my pacing group. My headphones died with 5 miles to go! And right at the end I could feel the muscle cramps approaching that took me down in my 20 mile training run. . There were so many options. Panic. Fear. Quitting. And I have to admit I popped into and out of a negative headspace. I even walked. 😳 At one point in the last 3k I just started robotically chanting “I can. I will. Yes. Yes.” 5o the rhythm of my own feet hitting the pavement and let it carry me across the finish line. I finished with 3:56:48 and welcomed myself to the sub-4 marathon club! . It wasn’t easy. It wasn’t pretty. I graduated high school with a 4.0, I received a college athletic scholarship, I graduated with my bachelors degree in journalism and marketing, I got an amazing job out of college in corporate sales, and then I completed my masters in business. Working hard has been the way I was brought up. And I always had big goals to climb the corporate ladder and make a name for myself. . . But after I had my first son, my whole plan fell apart. I couldn’t imagine leaving him with someone else. Being a stay-home-mom was never on my radar. But it’s funny his God changes our plans, isn’t it? And looking back, I feel like He created the path for my current career before I even knew I needed it. I loved fitness and athletics, I loved business, and I’m pretty determined. So when I heard about what a beachbody coach actually does, it felt so right. I get goosebumps still thinking about how it all came together. And now to be able to not only say this is my job, but my dream job and something I’m super successful at!! And it’s given be both...a way to stay home with my kids and an outlet for me!! My stomach is my problem area as is true for most of us. It is also one of the scariest places to have extra weight because of the increased risk of heart disease. I know abs start in the kitchen which is my prob 😂😂 it has taken time and effort but I can see some baby ab muscles 💪 You won’t see it in a week but with small changes you can FEEL the difference a lot quicker than you think. For as long as I could remember, I had dreamt of working in fitness. . I remember looking up to my competition cheer coach so much. She was a manager of a gym, beautiful and bubbly, hardworking & she just had magnetic energy. I wanted to be just like her. . So after realizing I could actually make fitness my career, I went all in. I majored in Kinesiology in college, got certified when I was 20 and started pursuing my passion of helping people in their health & fitness right away. I remember thinking I had it all figured out and how lucky I was to be able to work in my passion.... the job I had always dreamt of having! . . But there was one thing that I had dreamt of being more........... & that was a Mommy. 🤱🏻 . In my eyes, being a trainer was a perfect fit. I could schedule my hours & train people when I wanted to and be the mommy that I had always wanted. And then I had Finn. . That little 7lb babe changed my world. And I soon realized, that I hated leaving him in the early mornings & on weekends, when the rest of the world was having family time. I figured it was just the way life was. Not everything was going to be handed to me on a silver platter. I told myself to be grateful for what I had & that it was unrealistic to have everything I wanted. . . But then the opportunity to build an online fitness business was brought to my attention. It wasn’t the first time but it was different this time. My skeptic self looked into it, holding myself back from getting too excited because I had to be “realistic”. And it aligned w/ what I believed in & how I do things. . I dove in & showed up consistently, when it was easy & when it was hard. I never did huge things, but I focused on my love for helping people & showed up daily......& little by little it turned into a lot. And now, still often to my surprise, I get to have the best of both worlds. I didn’t have to give up my passion for my priority of family. I don’t have to miss out on my babes because of having to work my life around my job. . . I dreamt of pursuing my passion of fitness & I dreamt of being a mom and now I have both! 😍 . . Got up a little early to have some quiet time before my family got up. I knew it was going to be a crazy day with family pictures and a road trip so I wanted to start my day on a positive note and was welcoming anything I could to feel a little more grounded. As I was soaking in a few minutes of personal development (before being joined by my little wiggle worm)🐛 my heart was filled with gratitude. Gratitude for all that coaching has brought to my life, for strategies that at first were just a part of my job description and have since transformed my mindset and the way I run my day! . I often get asked what it is I love so much about what I do as a coach. Aside from the obvious things like the amazing community it’s brought into my life and freedom financially for my family, one of the first areas of my life that began to change through coaching was my mindset and belief in myself through doing some personal development reading or “PD”. PD has helped me get outside of myself. It has taught me how to focus on growth from the inside out so I can better serve others. It has changed so much about who I am on the inside which in turn has changed my relationship with others. Especially with my hubby because in all honesty marriage is hard work especially when you have little ones who demand most of your attention. . Feed your mind and soul and it will change your life! Half of the battle is our mindset and what we believe about ourselves. It is so easy to let our own self limiting beliefs get in the way of our happiness and living our best lives. . Have you ever tried reading a personal development book? . If you want to try one but don’t know where to start, here are a few on my favorites: * Girl Wash Your Face * Grace Not Perfection * Miracle Morning * You are a Badass * The 5 second rule . Try it out! You just might find how fun it is to work on your mindset!

Well all the Turkey is gone , so I decided to use up some sweet potatoes I had and I love this recipe it’s so good and filling 😋 Best part is that it’s perfect for meal prepping too ! Sweet Potato Black Bean & Quinoa Casserole INGREDIENTS 🍃4 cups sweet potatoes (1/2-inch cubes) 🍃1 (15 oz) can black beans, drained and rinsed 🍃1 cup uncooked quinoa, rinsed 🍃1 cup frozen corn, thawed 🍃2 cups vegetable broth 🍃1 tsp. chili powder 🍃2 tsp. cumin 🍃1 tsp. Minced Garlic 🍃½ tsp. dried thyme 🍃½ cup green onions, chopped DIRECTIONS Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine all ingredients, except for the green onions, in a 9x13 baking dish sprayed with cooking spray and bake, covered with tin foil, for 45 minutes. Remove tin foil and continue baking for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until liquid is mostly absorbed and the potatoes are tender. Remove from oven and let the casserole sit for 5 minutes so that any remaining liquid can be fully absorbed and sprinkle with green onions. Serve and enjoy! NOTE: If it looks like there is still some liquid in the casserole after baking for an hour, it's okay! I was initially worried when I pulled out the casserole that it still seemed a bit "liquidy," but that instantly went away and absorbed perfectly after sitting out for a few minutes right before serving!
