Some days you just need to listen to your body and give it a break. After my run yesterday, my knees were not happy about the road that I’ve been running on and walking up and down the steps hurt. I know with some ice and a day of rest they’ll be feeling fine. - So, I took the girls to the park this afternoon and had a little active recovery.😍💕 Seeing these two girls play together makes my heart melt!! They are seriously my world!! - On another note....next week I’ll be taking it back to the first program that I fully committed to. I lost 6 lbs and 7” in 3 weeks and felt amazing!! This program was so much fun and reminded me of pre-season for sports!! It has been revamped and a super fun competitive aspect has been added and I can’t wait to challenge myself!!😍 If you’re looking for a fun way to head into the holidays looking and feeling your best, let’s do this together!!💕

💁🏻‍♀️ Let’s talk about motivation… Motivation to get out of bed, workout, eat clean, clean your house, do the yard work, fold the laundry, etc. It doesn't matter what you need motivation for, it always gives us the nice encouragement and push to actually take ACTION. - BUT it’s NOT something that we’re guaranteed to get. It comes and it goes. 🤦🏻‍♀️ Especially if you’ve been following me the past year - you know my motivation has come and gone sooo much for every area of my life. - But there’s one thing that is non-negotiable - you should never let your lack of motivation cause you to give up.💥👊🏻 - As a wellness coach, I’m going to use the example of losing weight and getting healthy. 💁🏻‍♀️ - I promise that you’ll have high motivation days BUT you’ll also have days where you’re not motivated to do that workout and to eat according to your nutrition plan. ✨That doesn’t mean you just give up… - Motivation or not, if you want something - You will always find that push to achieve it. 👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻👇🏻 Maybe you need to switch up your routine to encourage motivation? Still shot 📸 of me during my workout.⁣⁣ Right after i looked at the clock and was like “omg 15 more minutes I’m so tired” and then my trainer said “DIG DEEEEEP within your spirit, yell if you have too, if you didn’t wake that baby up you’re not pushing hard enough”.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ Man. He was speaking directly to me. And then i kept going and i pushed and i screamed because i just needed to let it all out and then that last 15 minutes was up and i was SO proud of myselfz⁣⁣ (That paragraph prob needs a comma or period somewhere but this is instagram not AP English 😝).⁣⁣ Sometimes you don’t feel like you have the motivation, i know. Me too 🙋🏽‍♀️ But being motivated is a choice. It’s a decision you make everyday to get up and chase what’s yours. For me that’s living and leading a healthy lifestyle and sharing it with all of you. ✨Today was Cold.... today was long... BUT today was a blessing! . ✨When the girls were in kindergarten.. I couldn’t go on field trips! I worked full time and was one of the last parents to pick up from after school care! . Because of this amazing business... I no longer have to say “NO!”💕 He even held my hand most of the time, all while trying not to slip in the puddles of mud🤣 . I’ll forever be grateful that my coach showed me that this IS possible for me too! Now.... to get on a call with our CEO and then spend the night with the fam back at another pumpkin patch 😆!

A day off from school for #parentteacherconference means this guy got to workout with me 💙 . He said he needs to go back and do days 1-14 to catch up 🤣 ... I love that he is so into it!! . And while it wasn’t very easy at ALL this morning {had it in my head it would be easier with the big boys home but I was SO wrong} we still persevered because it’s my SANITY to do these workouts each morning!! . Everything starts with a decision ... you either decide to DO the things or NOT. I spent the majority of my life NOT doing the things and lived with a self-conscious mindset and unhealthy habits. This gives me confidence and a lifestyle I can maintain even in the chaos that is my life these days 🙌🏻

I go to the gym, because it is my time. . I don't generally do home workouts unless I cannot get there during childcare times. . Gasp, child care? Yes, I don't feel guilty about it one bit. Araya is a very social child. She throughly enjoys going to play with the other kids. . Also, going to the gym is where I can check out and escape my "to do" list and focus on myself. . My workouts are more than a way to move my body... they allow me to clear my mind and release those endorphins ("happy people dont just kill people"). Neither home workouts nor gym workouts are better. Do what works for you. Are you team home works or gym workouts?

Do you sometimes lack motivation with exercise? I can highly recommend training in a group. Apart from having an amazing support crew, and some peeps to laugh at how uncoordinated you are, it also gives you variety with your workouts. Each workout is different, which means more body parts hurt and you push yourself a little further than on your own. I miss my old training buddies from before we moved, they were such a top group. We pushed and encouraged each other and we enjoyed a coffee afterwards. There was so much that was good for the soul. If you need some motivation I can highly recommend group training. How do you keep motivated with your exercise?

My body has spoken, and as hard as it is for me, I’m gonna listen. It’s recovery week, guys. Lots of stretching, rolling, and gentle, weightless exercises. Anything you want to see? Let me know and I will do my best. You know my default is core work, so expect to see a lot of that. 🔹 If you’re trying this one, make sure you don’t lower the legs too far - you must be able to keep upper, middle and lower abs completely drawn in towards your spine. Back should be pressed firmly into the floor at all times. Try to wrap your torso to “cinch” your waist. If belly bulges or pushes forward, you don’t yet have enough deep core strength to lower the legs so far. You also may need to start with an easier variation of this exercise, like heel taps (no ball). Tried out a tabata workout my hubby did the other day. This was a finisher workout for him so he did 1 minute rest between each tabata but since this was my only morning workout/cardio session I opted out of the extra rest and went full throttle through all 4 tabata circuits (32 rounds, 10sec rest between each). However, I also went down in weights for the kbells (20lbs). It was an awesome workout for me in a super short amount of time💪. Next time, I'll try it as a finisher and see how I do😥. Where are all my granola lovers at?!! This ones for you!! 😍 . . I use to love eating granola growing up but as I became more health cautious I stopped buying store bought granola for two and making my own for two reasons 1) it’s a lot cheaper and 2) I can control how sweet it is. Then it evolved into a game of trying to come up with fun flavour combinations. I like to call this one Honey Almond Date Granola! . . Ingredients: . . ❤️2 cups rolled oats. ❤️1/4 cup pumpkin seeds. ❤️1/4 cup slivered almonds. ❤️1/2 cup Unsweetened shredded coconut. ❤️1/2 cup diced dates ❤️1/4 cup melted coconut oil. ❤️1/3 cup honey. ❤️1 tsp cinnamon. ❤️1 tsp all spice. ❤️1 tbsp chia seeds. ❤️1 tbsp hemp hearts. ❤️ 1 tsp pure vanilla extract. . . Let’s make it: 1. Mix wet ingredients and mix dry ingredients then combine wet with dry. ( don’t add dates) 2. Bake for 40 minutes 300F. Add dates , cool 3. It’s not easy but it’s possible! .. ., 🌮I love being a #foodie and experiencing all the amazingness life has to offer (like the fresh peach margarita from @deepsouthtaco in this pic 🍹), but the after effects are a little less than enjoyable when i overdo it - which I totally did this past weekend. .. .. “Puffy” and tired - how I describe the way I look and feel the day(s) after I do a liiiiittle too much “treating.” 😂I feel it in my face more than anywhere else, and notice the second I wake up! I know it sounds crazy but it’s true. .. .. .. ‼️So what am I doing today to prevent feeling like this for the rest of the week❓ 1️⃣drinking TONS of water. 2️⃣going back to basics - veggies, veggies veggies, green smoothies, proteins and healthy fats at each meal + 2 balanced snacks. Started today with a #matcha green smoothie. ‼️if you want to see a full typical day of eating like this, let me know & I’ll post it!‼️ 3️⃣ workout 5x this week! 4️⃣little to no processed foods, refined sugars and excessive sodium (helps get the “puffiness” down) 5️⃣Portion control 6️⃣I’m not punishing myself, I’m taking care of myself - there is a big difference. 1 week #postwhole30 update✨ . I’ve reintroduced grains such as: rice, corn and oatmeal. No negative side effects. Also introduced legumes like: soy, black beans and lentils. Again no side effects. . I don’t plan on introducing dairy. Unless it’s a special dish like pizza. It’s just not something I eat on a regular bases. We drink soy/almond milk and such so it’s no big deal. I did however eat some small pieces of candy and felt a huge headache afterward. Still need to introduce alcohol. But maybe once hubby comes back because I don’t like drinking alone with the kids(unless I’m like super stressed out). . So far my fitness endurance and performance is still high. I’m still loosing lbs/ inches. So all in all not complaining. Hubby said when he comes back we’ll probably do another full round because.....Hello. Turkey day. . Our first play and sing music 🎶 class was a huge success! As you can see, Sof was a little apprehensive going in, but she changed her tune immediately when the music started playing and everyone was pounding on the floor. She loved all the different musical instruments (even though she just chewed on most of them) and she danced along to all the songs when she was on her feet. ❤️ Safe to say that we will be signing up for the winter session starting in January!

We had so much fun last night at Uncle Dewey’s and Miss Crystal’s with Uncle Hunter! We carved pumpkins, roasted pumpkins seeds, ate donuts, drank hot mulled cider, and watched Monsters Inc. It was a perfect way to get ready for Sofie’s first Halloween! Today is a super cruddy wet day and I am beyond thankful for my home gym where my trainer is always available on my schedule. Week 3, Day 1, Round 2 Chest/Tris ☁️ ⭐️I just can NOT believe how my body has changed with this program! ☁️ ⭐️I am loving all the flexibility in my schedule. I loved listening to @drruscio on @wellnessforce podcast today. There’s nothing better than hearing a balanced-minded #functionalmedicine doctor share a well rounded opinion on nutrition. Don’t be extreme and dogmatic. Try nutritional and medical interventions and see how they work. If it doesn’t, try something else. It’s the only way you’re going to find what works for you. But be cautious to have a practitioner help you through the process, especially someone who is willing to listen to you and work with you along the way.

So..... what do power tools, home improvement and football all have in common?! . . . . For me, it’s the temptation to have some 🍻’s. And after 🍻’s, because I’m a lightweight and cheap date (yay for me cuz I’m buyin’) 😜🤷🏼‍♀️ I pretty much lose any sort of discipline I had 🍕🍟🍔🍩. And after not really caring too much about what I ate and drank in Vegas, I knew I’d want to come home and do a short, easy and effective #detox to rid my body of all the junk and to help me regain discipline with my nutrition and get myself back on track... because it’s only 5 days till my BIRTHDAY and 7️⃣8️⃣ days till the NEW YEAR and I wanna ROCK my LBD, or LRD 😍💃🏼. .
