I’m gonna break this stereotype right now! Yes I am a de gist. Yes I deal with teeth. Yes I talk about the oral a Ify all day. But I am also a health professional. For all of you people including doctors who think we’re just mouth specialist, you’re just plain wrong! 😉 Not to throw anyone under the bus but I probably talk more about the oral cavity body mind connection more than a lot of doctors out there. We go thru 4 years of college learning about biology and anatomy and another 4 of Dental school with more science and body learning than just the mouth. And it is something that I not only talk about, but I also promote health, fitness, diets and proper nutrition, which believe it or not, has a huge connection to your mouth. So shoutout to one of my role model @therock for his hard work and dedication. I work 14hrs days 7 days a week and love it. The work is hard but you have to find the time to get some of those bad chemical that builds up in your body and rid of them. How you do that? Get your blood flowing, your lymph nodes pumping and flush that stuff out. I still find time during the day to do that! If I can, do can you! 💪You will feel a lot happier when you do! So the photo on the left came up today on my memories on Facebook from 5 years ago. I was just starting to really get into the fitness thing. This was my second certification in Sports Nutrition. I was still owner/manager at Burger King at the time. I knew deep down that I wasn’t meant to be at BK forever. I am very grateful for the 24 years I spent there and all of the people I worked with and served over the years and the quality of life it provided my family. Soon after this picture (12 days to be exact) I left BK to venture out on my own. Have to be totally honest, I was scared to death. Didn’t really have plan, didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do with the rest of my life. I trained a little bit at a small studio here in Norfolk and did a little personal training at the YMCA. Ive always felt my best when I’m in the gym, I knew it was either go all in or nothing at all. About 10 months later I met Lucas Osborn and we started what is now Set The Bar Fitness & Nutrition in a little 1200sq ft back room. We had no clue the amount of hours and blood sweat and tears it would take but we always brought the energy and passion every single day. You will never see us not 100% excited to be at “work” we love it and we love the people we work with and the people we serve in the community. I can not begin to come close to being able to thank all the people that have supported us over the years. Our staff has been nothing short of amazing and we are very proud of the place we call our second home. Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts. При этом важны не только абсолютное содержание каждого пищевого вещества, но и количественные соотношения между ними, что определяет так называемую сбалансированность питания. Нужно помнить, что недостаток или избыток тех или иных веществ может отрицательно повлиять на важнейшие функции организма, несмотря на полноценность пищи в калорийном отношении. Вместе с тем, зная питательную ценность и назначение отдельных пищевых веществ, можно посредством составления различных по качеству рационов питания активно влиять на функциональную деятельность организма, способствовать развитию скелетной мускулатуры, устранению лишних жировых отложений, повышению работоспособности и выносливости. Наиболее благоприятное соотношение основных пищевых веществ (белков, жиров и углеводов) для взрослых составляет 1:1:4 — это так называемая формула сбалансированного питания. Для спортсменов эта формула выглядит иначе: 1:0,8:4 или даже 1:0,7:4. Это связано с тем, что при выполнении спортивных упражнений нередко возникает кислородный голод. На окисление жиров требуется больше кислорода, чем на окисление углеводов; в условиях нехватки кислорода при использовании жира в качестве источника энергии образуются недоокисленные продукты — кетоны, являющиеся ядовитыми для организма. Количество тех или иных нутриентов меняется в зависимости от вашего типа сложения. Оптимальное соотношение белков, углеводов и жиров для эктоморфов: белки - 20-30%, углеводы - 50-60%, жиры — 20-30%. Для мезоморфов: белки - 30-40%, углеводы - 40-50%, жиры — 10-20%. Для эндоморфов: белки - 40-50%, углеводы -30-40%, жиры К 10-15%. Talvez devido a uma exagerada pressão que inconscientemente coloco sobre mim e sobre a minha técnica. “Hoje é para bater PR!”, dizemos nós. E faz parte, quem não gosta? Nem que seja para alimentar um pouco o nosso ego e dar aquele boost de confiança. Enquanto parte natural do treino e resultado do mesmo, considero-o “saudável”. Mas quando o “hoje é para bater PR!” passa a ser a prioridade do dia, habitualmente a técnica passa para segundo plano. De uma forma inconsciente diria, pomos de parte aquilo que nos leva à execução de mais trabalho com um menor dispêndio de energia. E que sentido fará isso quando pomos em causa pontos fulcrais como a segurança, a eficácia e a eficiência? - Mais do que valorizar um número de três dígitos num movimento olímpico, devemos valorizar em primeiro a sua técnica, porque sem esta a evolução ou o próprio aumento de cargas nunca será sólido ou sequer possível. O “focus of the day” deverá sempre priorizar a técnica porque será esta que efectivamente nos levará a mais trabalho, maiores cargas, menor gasto energético.
