PUSH YOUR LIMITS! 💪🏽 — Here I’m lifting 225lbs which is a weight that I haven’t squatted in over a year. This was part of a 7 round circuit of squats that I did with @trystenneburey, where we started with 95lbs and worked our way to 225lbs, and the first thing that I told her was “there’s no way I’m lifting that”. Now I clearly don’t lift this heavy regularly, so it was a challenge to get myself to even psych myself into doing it, but with her encouraging me that I could and being willing to challenge myself, I got it done. __ We often psych ourselves out of doing so many things because our initial thoughts are always, it’s too hard, I can’t do it, it won’t work etc., and all of that negativity keeps us from accomplishing amazing things. If you want to lose 100lbs but think it’s impossible, IT’S NOT! If you think there’s no way you can quit the job you hate to start the business you love, YOU CAN! Start giving yourself more positive pep talks, and watch how the universe responds to that energy and all of the blessings will start to rain down. __ We are all capable of extraordinary things, but if we don’t believe it, and aren’t willing to put the work in, nothing will ever get done. Making excuses doesn’t make our dreams magically become easier to accomplish. Quit complaining, make a plan and put it into action! We have 3 weeks left of the year, LET’S MAKE IT COUNT ! 🙌🏽💕

LEAN VS FATTY PROTEIN SOURCES⠀ By @jameskewfitness⠀ .⠀ ‘Peanut butter is a good source of protein’... err, no it isn’t 🙅🏻‍♂️⁣⠀ ⁣.⠀ In fact for people who are trying get lean and need to control their calorie intake whilst eating a high protein diets, it’s fair to say that nuts and nut butters have a truly abysmal calorie to protein ratio. ⁣⠀ ⁣.⠀ To optimise body composition most guys need 150g+ of protein a day, and most girls are in the 120g+ range. Now consider that to get to just 50g of protein from peanut butter would require almost 1400 calories, and it becomes very obvious that peanut butter should not be regarded as a protein source. Don't forget to listen to your body and keep your life balanced. Woke up at 5am for crossfit, but thought to myself, "I have the day off, I haven't seen my husband for the last 3 days, I just want to lay in bed and snuggle" and then went back to sleep. Spent our morning hanging out and then got up and went to the gym instead...crossfit will be there tomorrow. But we still got a workout in! Something about me you might not know… is... I have fear of heights. I have been afraid of heights since I was a young girl. I can't ride roller coasters, climb etc.. Anything fun related I cannot do because of my fear of heights. UGH. That doesn't mean you cannot conquer your fear, right? You sure can if you focus on the mindset that you can do it. In 2016 when I was adventuring to new endeavors & signing up for 5ks and OCR's I conquer my fear of heights by climbing the ropes. It was part of the obstacle I had no option but to do it. I have been preparing for weeks prior to the event but the fear is still there. You see obstacles that require you to go up a wall and down. I must admit I was shaking and talking myself out of it but I had a great support system that rooted for me. Having a great community of people that support you, cheer for you it helps you ease your mind of saying no. Back to the rope climbing obstacle, it was my first time ever climbing a rope ( due to fear of heights) As I stated before I have been preparing myself by exercising and working on upper body exercises basically working on the entire body. As it got closer to my turn the more I was scared, one I have never done this, two I am so scared of the height of the rope. As I approach my turn and touch the rope I only have one choice and that is to go up. Of course, my circle of friends was there for me in case I need it help but to my surprise, I climbed the rope as if I have done it before. I looked like an expert (Which I wasn't) I honed my skill of upper body strength. Most importantly it was all mental. I was mentally prepared once I decided to go for it. Overall, is all in the mind. Lazy girl tasty tip: quick and delicious spicy veggie soup . 🍅Grab a couple handfuls of mixed frozen veg. Preferably some that has lots of tomatoes or red peppers. Add in tinned tomatoes or paste if needed . 🌶Chuck into a blender/nutribullet. Season with garlic salt, black pepper, and some (lots!!) sriracha for that extra kick of heat . 🍆Add some water and blend. Then dump into a pan and heat through on the stove. Taste and season more if needed . 🍵Finally add a drizzle of yogurt or non dairy alternative and/or some olive oil . 🥕I love this soup as it’s super easy, yummy, and a simple way to inject a few more veggies into my diet . Arm blaster is another good tool to keep cheating to a minimum. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ When exercise execution is less than ideal the last thing you want to do is go and load up more weight. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ One thing I do regularly in my training is take a step back in weight on all exercises every few weeks to months. Even if the lift is progressing well and I’m getting stronger there is almost always a time when we get lazy and start sacrificing form for more weight or reps.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ I can guarantee you have been guilty of this at some point. The best way I’ve found to correct this is to take a step back every so often and lower the weight with perfect form and continue climbing your way back up with perfect form. ⁣⁣ ⁣⁣ If you have a muscle group lagging I highly recommend it. Even if you just want to continue making progress over the long term you will see a huge benefit to doing this.
