I can’t believe that this girl is almost 2, it feels unreal. I remember as a kid thinking that my Mom was so much older than other Moms because she had me when she was 30.
I had Delaney at 31, and Ellie at 36. So many of my friends are having babies into their late thirties (and I predict early 40’s). I was at the gym earlier this week and saw this woman who was easily and her 70s and I couldn’t help but feel so excited as I saw her rolling a dōTERRA roller on her wrist in the change room. I saw her a while later doing some stretching on the floor and her flexibility blew me away. I thought to myself, this is what health is supposed to look like in our 70s.
Yesterday I had someone come to my house to buy a blood pressure monitor that I didn’t need anymore. This woman looked about the same age, however could barely walk, was wheezing in the heat, and had a ton of health issues that she told me about.
While I don’t know their backgrounds and I’m making a ton of assumptions, I do know that one of those women was making very different choices for her own health. We are not meant to turn a certain age and become ill and sedentary and be required to pop pills.
Of course we can’t control all of our health related issues, but being proactive allows us to have such a huge hand and ensuring our health and longevity.
It can feel overwhelming, but as someone who wasn’t always the picture of health it really boils down to: ➕ reduce unnecessary toxin exposure ➕ move your body
➕ drink lots of water
➕ supplement well ➕ manage stress
➕ eat healthfully
As I told Delaney this week, I plan on being around for a very, very long time. I’m sure as heck going to do everything possible to be that 70 year old woman rolling on oils and doing yoga poses versus the alternative ✌🏻❤️
