I struggle with over eating in the extreme. One day I'll eat what would be considered a very healthy amount of food - nutritionally sound and decent portions. The next, oh boy - I can eat what two grown men could put down. And don't get me started on sugar. I have a problem. And this problem isn't an easy solve. I ate healthy and clean for 5 months last year - lost almost 60lbs, and totally relapsed at the end of the year. I'm battling a lifelong war for my health, and there's going to be serious ups and downs. I've gained almost 30lbs since April of 2017, and I am ashamed... I've tried jumping back on board multiple times, but my heart wasn't in it. For anyone who is still following me, I appreciate it. I don't deserve to be on your newsfeed. Some food snaps from today 🍽 Breakfast was 1 slice of wholemeal toast, with Benecol (low cholesterol substitute for butter) and marmite which has vitamin B. Also had orange juice (lots of vitamin C, helps to heal acne scaring) and a cup of tea (semi skimmed milk) which added up to 157 calories. Dinner was chicken chow mein with peppers, spring onions and some chicken and rice, you can add any vegetables you fancy, I like to add peas and red peppers (tip- lessern the amount of oil you use in your cooking, oils are pretty unhealthy, I've been using frylight in my meals for a healthier alternative). W3D1 Legs/Glutes and 20 min cardio. I have to admit I killed it today with the circuits. My heart rate got to 197bpm during the burnout. I only repeated it twice but I know I gave it all I had. Towards the last circuit, a personal trainer told me “You’re going hard today” and I sure was 😊😉There’s was nothing stopping me today !!!

PROGRESSION! 🙌. To you, this may be just a picture of a bar and some plates. To me, this is a picture of progress which I'm gonna document! When I started lifting and squatting properly a couple of weeks ago I could only just squat 40kg for two, maybe three reps, so literally only just! Today I've reached a new PB before the month ends, 60kg for my final set of 5 reps. FML it hurt, but you gotta love them blues! 💙 It may not be much to other gym goers that have been doing this longer, and yes I'm new (and late) to the game, but as a newbie to the world of weights I'm buzzing with this! MY progress, MY goals, MY chapter one 😁 . . Next Target | Chapter Two | 75kg. I'm setting the target date too. 14.02.2018. Valentines Day. It's mid Feb, it's an easy date to remember, and I'm actually looking forward to it for once! Partly cos I normally curse at happy couples while I sit at home, single, cuddling the dog, eating a tub of Ben and Jerrys 🙈 but not this year! If you’re looking to maximize your efforts in the gym, then hammering each muscle group once per week – or spending the majority of your time focusing on small isolation lifts – is not the solution. Sure, you’ll get a nice pump and you’ll likely be sore after your workout, and you may even experience some sizeable gains…but just because something is working, doesn’t mean a better, more effective option doesn’t exist . You see, “killing” each muscle-group cannot be the focus of your training – it’s an aimless goal. The focal point of your program should be progression, and if progress is the goal, then you’ve got to train smarter. Day 22: #AYearOfYoga2018 . #bakasana #crowpose . . Crow is a pose I used to do alllll the time. Now I admit I don't work on it much at all anymore, and I definitely feel it! I still see progress, but you have to look at the rounding/lifting of my upper back through the years. Each year seems to show improvement there. . Even though my arms were straight in 2016, I know my strength and endurance weren't great. My back looks flat which can't be good 😂 . 2017: held that particular crow for over a minute with toetaps and crow push ups. Change was mostly internal. . 2018: now we have some subtle visual progress - my toes are tucked in higher, and there's more lift because my core is stronger. Do you weigh yourself daily? How about on vacation? As much as I appreciate the data from daily weigh ins for myself and my clients, it’s simply not always necessary and can being you a lot of stress! I took the opportunity during my honeymoon to not stress about weighing in daily and to not weigh my food out or track anything. Being sick for the majority of my honeymoon also gave me a reason to really listen to my body and the hunger signals I needed. I’ll weigh in tomorrow and get a check in with my coach to see where things stand. I say this to encourage you all of you are stressing about vacation or weighing in... it’s ok to give yourself a break. Two weeks in the grand scheme of your life, when you are diligent about tracking your food and your weight daily, is a tiny amount of time. This is not to say you can’t really mess up your progress in two weeks if you drop all of your good habits and eat crap all day every day when you are gone, but it’s very possible to make good choices and indulge s little bit and still stick to your goals! Youve got this! De-stress on your vacation!

Day 1: January 22,2018 . . I’m always the one who will start something and give it 💯 right out of the gate. I’ll start seeing results and my mind takes over and starts justifying things. “Oh just a few cookies won’t hurt... I’ll just workout extra hard tonight” .. “one meal at Wendy’s won’t be that bad.. I’ll just make sure to run an extra 20 minutes” .. . Not long after that it just snowballs into a full binge session and I’m completely off my eating and exercise goals. . I’m starting to see this as self sabotage. Like I’m afraid that when I start seeing some results I hit the breaks and completely get myself the fuck off course. . I’m in the process of changing my mentality and changing my body for the better. . Today is Day 1 of this process. Let’s put in the work and do this! 💪

Today WOD was the following 10 minute time cap. 800 metre run 20 OH SQUATS 30 DIPS. ❌So today I cracked the shits with myself. Today it embarrassingly took me at least 7 something minutes to run 800metres. It actually killed me. I kinda wanted to cry. I didn't finish my WOD we had a timecap of 10 minutes I was in a shit mood & I felt like I had failed, but after a bit of Taylor and a drive home I kind realised I'm only human and running isn't my strength, in fact I hate the shit. ✨But a conversation with my brother the other night stuck to my head "if you wanna loose the weight you need to run & jump outta your comfort zone" So that's what im going to do. Run more beat my time and hopefully each month I'll get fitter, maybe I'll test it every 2 weeks and see how I come along. Watch this space! 🙌🏻 oh and a positive thing was I did my OH squats at 25kgs 😊 so a bit of good during the gloom.

BULKING UPDATE 🐖 __ I decided to spend the past 2 weeks at just a liiiittle above maintenance after spending the previous 2 weeks at a pretty big surplus. Was sorta just playing around with it, but I'm pretty happy with the results. __ 1️⃣ Getting fluffy gets a liiittle bit discouraging. Once people start thinking they look a bit too fat, they often jump to a minicut prematurely. Slowing down the rate of gain gives you time to reduce the water weight caused by the influx of carbs and calories from a higher surplus, so it gets much easier to assess your physique! Probably a good idea in making more suitable adjustments, so I'll probably be doing this for some time! __ 2️⃣ People often struggle because increasing food intake can get tiring (and I love my food, but downing extra carbs from low fat sources isn't exactly the funnest thing ever 😂). So this might also be a good way to keep yourself "hungry" throughout a gaining phase. __ Also, after listening to the bulking debate between @helms3dmj and @rpdrmike on Abel Csabai's @susdvc_abel podcast, I saw the benefits of running both styles of mass gaining, so I will 🤷🏻‍♂️ please do correct me if this is a mistake 🤔 __ Upper Body: 1) 4x8 Bench Press @ 85kg 2) 4x8 DB Incline Press @ 80lbs/side 3) 4x6 OHP @ 125lbs 4) 4x8 DB Shoulder Press @ 70lbs/side 5) 4x8 Machine High Row @ 140lbs/side 6) 4x8 Machine T-Bar Row @ 165lbs (last set 4x strip set) 7) 4x10 Machine Lateral Raise @ 50lbs 8-12) ARMS. 💪🏼 __ Ego liftin with @winchevi @papigilmore today 🤙🏽 Upper body sesh was extra 🔥 today because of some machines I don't usually have access to in most other gyms like the ones for the T-bar & Lateral Raise 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼 also wasn't planning on doing arms but you just can't not do it when the douchebags are around 😂 __ #fit #fitness #bodybuilding #physique #physiqueupdate #bulking #progress #transformation #natty #naturalbodybuilding #gymlife #fitlife #fitspo #fitnessmotivation #fitnessprogress #fitnessjourney #aesthetics #gains #gym #workout #flex

We're up to day 22 now! 185 squats, 23 push-ups and 85 leg raises! Sore legs are a permanent fixture! Haha.
