For those who know me, health & fitness has been a huge part of me since starting BBG 3 years ago. I'd normally try to get workouts in before work at 6am and then zoning out at work by 3pm. Previously it was sheer mental strength and determination to get to the gym (and hence snoozing the alarm was frequent) but since introducing ketones supplement & a keto diet it has been a breeze. Getting Spartan ready! Considering before last week I couldn't even lift myself off the ground, I slowly learnt the technique. And this week I am able to move up a short rope with ease! There's nothing fancy ; it's through my diet and exercise. Nothing fancy and complicated about the diet too. No diet pills, no slimming teas, no short term fad diets etc. I eat right, according to my body, budget, time (to prepare) and preferences. Nothing fancy about the exercise too. This was the last set of 3x10reps after today’s workout of @thebod_ program; thought I’d throw this one in. WORKOUT: 3rounds 25kg Push Press 20kg Upright Rows 25-35kg Bench Press 5 sets 20kg Strict Press 3 rounds: 10 Pull-Ups (Asstd. Purple) 12kg KB swings . There’s a few ways T2B can be performed I do it this way, knees are slightly bent tight hammies. What I need to work on: dead hang, lat activation, strict toe 2 bar, the control on the descent, core isolation. Muscles worked: biceps, lats, abs, obliques, hip flexors *The more momentum used during the exercise the less of an isolation exercise this becomes in the abdominals. So that is my goal for next time. Movement preparation and activation Many times i see people starting directly with weights etc. What’s the risk of starting with weight ? The most important risk is the chance that the muscles aren’t prepaired for such a load. Also the technique isn’t always comfortable. A good technique and prep is so decisive in the training schedule. Yesterday i guided in the trainingcenter nearby and i spoke to a guy who made several mistakes on his pull-ups. He thought to start with a wide arm position because otherwise he would’t have the feeling of trigger in the shoulders. But he was guided in his pull-up with 50 kg. Some people need help on exercising and then they can change their exercise. After my tips he came with a positive feedback. What would happened when he did it again and again in the further weeks when i didn’t spoke to him. I think he would give up with maybe an injury by overloading the shoulder and with no more motivation because of less trigger in the muscles of the bad technique caused by the beginning posture and the way he started his exercise.A good technique can make the difference between control of the weight /resistance or not. Some people haven’t also enough mobility ,flexibility or perception of the posture and movement (proprioception of the body) . So to make the body ready for exercising for your goal make sure it can handle it by testing with easier parameters of exercising . I know it's tough! You just want to throw that chicken and rice down your throat as fast as you possibly can when you just had a killer workout! However that is unfortunately not optimal for digestion.... I know in this digital fast paced world, the last thing you want to do is "take your time" however if you want to experience optimal gains, you may reconsider eating slower! "Slower is better sometimes" lol... In order for optimal digestion and to really absorb all of the nutrients and activate important processes like protein synthesis(muscle building), we have to take our time eating and chewing, you would not believe the amount of people that think they are anacondas and swallow foods like a piece of steak whole! (That screws up your digestion bro and loses some gains) So next time you want to throw food down your throat and not chew it, think of this post bro! Make this Wednesday COUNT! Yesterday was chest and back day. But the highlight of my day was the plank at the end of the exercise. When I first started exercising. the longest I can hold my plank was 45 seconds. WHEN TO DO CARDIO? By @JoeActivated (READ MORE👇🏽) . Are you a marathon athlete who runs like crazy? Probably not, so keep on reading. . Cardio AFTER your weightlifting is ideal. However, separating them as much as possible is key. I usually like to play basketball while I’m at the gym, so it’s a MUST that I hoop (cardio) AFTER my weight training. . Why? . Cardio will DRAIN you depending on how hard you’re going. Now a 5-minute warm-up jog is fine, but if you’re running 3 basketball games full speed or running 3 miles on the treadmill, do NOT weight train afterward. . You’ll be drained, risk injury because of fatigue, and will not be able to lift as much as you usually do which will cause you to miss out on gains.  Do cardio AFTER! In fact, cardio AFTER your weight training is VERY good for fat loss/toning because the weight training will burn up your glycogen stores (the carbs you eat), aka the fuel your body uses. Once that runs out, your body taps into your fat burning stores which will be tapped into from your cardio session afterward. . .
