Had subtle red rings around it's haunting eyes
Movements were strange, unpredictable
Stood still for a moment, then rapidly twisted it's neck around the branch as if it were searching for something
And then back to stillness
If it weren't for the cage between us, I'd have been intimidated
When I say the cage between us, I mean the cage around it
Someone is profiting from it's imprisonment
Even when the admission is free
There are children watching, but only for a moment
Children so innocent, much like the bird
Who of us is not innocent?
Or is this just the reality of destructive human nature?
Skyscrapers and telephone wires
Still remains silent, hasn't made a sound
Sitting on the same branch, a few groups now have viewed it and passed
I checked the time on my watch, who's straps were chain link.
Notes, from a morning of observation.
