The past few years have been all about simplifying. Minimizing noise, shedding anything taking up too much space, lightening up the load I carry with me. Mostly because I moved around so much that this purging has been a necessity for me to physically make the transition from one place to the next. But under the surface, this purging has taught me the distinct difference between what I want and what I *need*. And knowing this difference has shown me just how much we could hold onto that we don’t need!! Why carry more weight on our shoulders than we need to?
It’s this mindset shift that’s led me to donate most of my clothing. I like the way it feels to know and love everything that I’ve kept with me all these years. Buying secondhand in all of the different cities I’ve lived in has let me bring stories and memories home with me in a special way :) like these pants I found in nyc with @ayottelindsey ! they make me feel like a cool painter and I love it 😜🎨
