Can you guess the mystery meat on this plate?
It’s 🐇, fresh killed from our yard. This suburban/city girl learns more and more about her wild side through my husband, and his circle, on the reg.
I’ve dabbled with vegetarianism in the past and it’s not for me. Ethically, I don’t believe there’s any harm in eating meat. I do think industrial farming has hurtful consequences on the environment, but that’s true of the meat AND the crops produced.
The story I sell myself is “it’s okay I’m a meat eater because I would be fine butchering and eating the meat”. I’ve confirmed this through fish plenty of times, but this is the first time I had to cut up the whole animal and prepare it (my hubs did the dressing part- is that what its called? 🤷🏻♀️) Regardless this meal was super special. I got to place my hand on the bunny after the kill and thank you it for its life and the nourishment is was going to provide my family. I get to teach my daughter that meat has a face.
Who would have though the pretty little princess I grew up as would be eating freshly killed bun bun for her birthday.
Any hunters wives up in here I can get an amen from?
Ps- I’m gonna share the recipe on the blog too because it truly was delicious & I wanna share the good 🥘🐰
