I’ve been inspired lately by @katiepetersenlifting to get more creative with my training and movements in particular. Training isn’t always perfect, in fact it’s often opposite. Reps get funky, effort gets lazy, your mind takes over and movements get sloppy. I’ve been feeling “ungrounded” lately so I listened to my body, pulled back from HEAVY lifting and focused on technique and focus to reground myself. I played with some explosive and powerful movements to force the roots through my heels and toes. Remember, you’re like a tree. Hold your heel down with one hand, then use your other hand to push your knee forward over your toes. Rock back and forth 10-12 times, then switch sides! - 2️⃣Wide Stance Rocking: Get onto your knees and elbows with your knees spread out wide. Gently rock your hips back toward your heels while maintaining a flat back. Aim to go a little bit further with each repetition. - 3️⃣T-Spine Extension/Rotation: Get into a hands and knees position, then bring one hand behind your head. Reach your elbow through the space between your down hand and knee, then rotate toward the ceiling as far as you can. Repeat for 10-12 reps before switching sides. - 4️⃣Kettlebell Squat Prying: Grab a kettlebell and hold it at your chest. Squat down and bring your elbows inside your knees. Block 4, week 1, Monday -------------------------------------------- Started new training block today after deload last week, body was little beat up from strongman so weights felt heavy. Didn't help that new training partners miss loaded my top set on front squat adding an extra 5kg on one side, trying to kill me on day 1 😂😂😂. Still managed to hit above my numbers in a fatigued state which is a good sign. Front squats up 7.5kg & deadlifts up 5kg this block. Making solid progress, strength is still below where it should be especially on the deadlift but I'll get there. I have been known to stand in sainsburys for 15 minitues just staring into the fridge😒 There is no inspirational takeaway from this, just that I'm aware of it and I'm working on it.
