Since highland bakery is known for their tasty baked goods, I had to start my meal off with the 🍓🥐and the iconic Cinnamon roll. The 🥐 was a pleasant surprise, because the 🍓 glaze was infused on the inside with cream 🧀 . Consistency of the cream 🧀 was thick and savory. The 🥐 was berry fluffy and flaky. On the other hand, the Cinnamon roll was a very different experience. It was not as warm as I anticipated it to be but, the thickness of the frosting made up for it. The cinnamon roll had the same firmness as 🥖which meant that it was not as flaky as I expected. I highly recommend both starters but the 🥐 was a clear winner 🌟. The entrée options were definitely harder to choose from 🤔 because of the variety offered, but I decide on the Ricotta Pancakes and the Hopping Highland Grits. Ricotta pancakes have always been fascinating to me because using 🧀 as a base was an unfamiliar concept 🤷🏽♂️ . 🤞🏽Surprisingly, it worked very well because the pancakes were a lot fluffier than their buttermilk counterparts. To dress these pancakes, I was given a side of blueberry compote. The sweetness of the powdered sugar and compote added a nice candied taste. Words cannot even describe the presentation of the grits 😲. At the centerpiece of the dish, they placed a Cheddar wafer which was a nice twist to the cheese usually being mixed in. The diced peppers added a little heat to the dish and the texture from the black-eyed peas was awesome and added a nice earthy flavor. Cherry 🍅 implemented some color and was great way to add some subtle sweetness. The bacon was extra crispy and was a perfect end to the entire meal.
Thanks Highland Bakery for the delicious delights. See you soon and everyone go check them out at one of their many locations!!!!!!
