Sometimes the best thing you can do is just take one step toward.... I was at a coffee shop this morning and looked to a mirror on the wall.. Written on it was “a river makes its own path.” Sometimes the most scary thing is a wide open space, or an empty canvas...It can be so overwhelming to think about making a river of your life, to carve your way in uncharted territory because it puts us outside of our comfort zone.
In these moments when we are presented with huge opportunity and fear it’s easy to lean into our mental capacity and rationalize what we experience and where we think we should go.
We ask ourselves questions like ‘what am I going to do now?’ ‘How do I make this work?’ And then things quickly become overwhelming...we end up feeling stuck.
But, life is not a race.
A river isn’t carved in one day, it’s etched over moments, days, years. It’s not made with man-made mental capacity or force, it is made with the intuition of Mother Nature. Something much more slow moving and guided by a higher power.
After getting home I turned on the TV and Pocahontas was on... yes I know #momlife right here😂😂 and seriously let’s talk about an overarching theme of the element of water in my day 😝
In the movie I heard the song line “Listen with your heart you will understand.” This reminded me that letting things unfold in life is much more heart guided than when we power through things and are head lead.
Just like Mother Nature lays a path out for a river, there is a plan for us too. We just usually cannot comprehend it with our small minds. Our mind actually limits us.
To follow your heart takes listening, hearing inner guidance, and taking an action-a simple step forward. Then doing this process over and over and over, until we make our mark and leave a river in our wake ✨
My one step today was carving out a few moments of quiet so I can listen. And that is enough.
So, what is your one step for today?
