Some people want crystals to be “perfect” and I would agree that sometimes I want that too. However, there are times when a crystal’s “imperfections” are what makes that particular crystal perfect. This opal baby is a prime example. I love that although she is a chocolate Ethiopian opal, she looks anything but chocolate. Instead she is clear, translucent, and pops with rainbows. And the brilliant thing about her is that there is an open pocket between the opal gemstone and the matrix allowing for a clear view inside the opal. What’s supercool is that this opal is hollow in that pocket, yet the rest of the opal has remained intact and not broken down. If you take a chocolate Ethiopian opal, and crack it (I’ve done that too out of curiosity for what’s inside), they’re almost always solid, perhaps fryable depending on density, but solid no less. This baby is super special with a window into her soul. Comment sold $56 to claim.
