Five days of non stop adventure! ✓ Theodore Roosevelt National Park ✓ Yellowstone National Park (for like 2 seconds just to say we went) ✓ Grand Teton National Park (most of our time was actually spent in Bridger-Teton National Forest) ✓ Black Hills National Forest
Holy moly, the beauty that we found along the way was absolutely breath taking. TRNP was a pleasant surprise, I didn't expect to find something so lovely in ND. The Tetons were even more incredible than I could've imagined, everywhere we turned there was a new scene to soak in. Our chosen campsite was perfect - an amazing view, not a person in sight. We actually arrived just before sunset, set up camp in the first open spot we found in the woods and then went to drive around and see what else we could find lol thank goodness we did! We decided to head out a day early and take the longer route back so we could stop in the Black Hills. It was nice not having to worry where the boys were or were not allowed (GTNP we were limited to the parking lots) - they were invited to hang out on the patio where we ate lunch and then inside while we ordered ice cream, a shop owner even came out and gave them toys and treats and they got loved on by just about everyone we walked by. We got many questions asking if they are Bernese Mountain dogs, or border Collies, or obviously they're Shelties, right? 😂 We hiked and drove, and hiked some more. We're all really tired, and so, so content!
