I used to dread being asked what my hobbies were. It’s such a silly question to be afraid of. Of course I had things I enjoyed doing, but I had to really think to just come up with a few. I honestly never understood why it was so difficult for me to find something I was passionate about . It’s cause I was terrified to try new things. I hated being out of my comfort zone. I hated feeling uncomfortable or overthinking every aspect. That my friends, will leave you feeling stuck without any direction on where to go. . I’m gonna go all corny Pinterest motivation on y’all. If I didn’t make a promise to Logan to just go to one class to try it out, I honestly don’t think I would have ever gotten the guts to do so . Now, I love waking up before the sun each day to go see what my body can do and what my mind can overcome. I love that just after 4 months I’m moving weight I didn’t think I could. I love the exchange of a fist bump and a job well done after each class. Ima sip my kool-aid all day long because we work our asses off day in and day out. We come back day after day because we all have a common goal. And that’s to be the best/strongest/healthiest versions of ourselves. Did Saturdays programming today. Last heavy front squat single from 5 sets of 1 at 95% shown. Grind grind grind 🙃. Really happy no knee cave either💃 . Also an awesome metcon from @freewillcrossfit 5,5,3,3,1,1,1 push press. Score is total weight moved. Worked up to 120lbs 🎉 got a bit wobbly but locked it out! Super happy. Definitely a big PR on push press.

Day 650. 241.5 lbs lost. Today was weigh in day. It wasn't my best month but it certainly was not my worst. There are times when I expect bigger numbers but I have learned to let it be whatever it is. I know I did my very very best and my nutrition was on point so this is ok! So, I pull out coat #2 and remind myself where I came from. "You silly girl, look at yourself. It's happening, don't you see? Right in front of you". I throw a smile on and I get my rear to the box. Because that's what we do. We don't throw in the towel because we didn't get the number we wanted. We keep going. That's 4 lbs that I don't ever have to repeat again. I wore this coat the very first day I stepped into CrossFit and it fit perfectly.That's a hell of a win for the day and I take every single one of them. Hit a goal today that has been a mental block for me. I knew that if I didn’t have a muscle up I could not even begin to compete where I wanted to. ✨I received a message from a high school friend this weekend that made me cry AND honestly made me reflect on how far I’ve come! ✨ “I just want to tell you, I’m super happy for you and so amazed at your journey and success with BB. I can totally tell you have changed from the inside out. Not the same Stef I knew in high school. So much more confidence and grit. Keep it up girl!” 😭😭😭✨ . I had to sit back, reflect... and I totally agree with her!! People CAN change and I’m proof of that!💕 what did it take?? It took me CHOOSING this journey of health and fitness.....BUT the biggest turnaround for me??? The moment I decided to pay it ALL forward!💕💕💕 You really do gain a LOT just by lifting others up and helping them become their best self too!!💕 . Did I expect for it to turn into what it has?? So today did not go as planned but still went well. I hit a meet PR on my squat of 336 lbs (152.5K) and an all-time PR on my deadlift of 375 lbs (170K). We accidentally said the wrong starting weight for my bench so I got it once but not to standards. This also means I didn't get a total, but it would have been a PR if I'd gotten my bench. Now I need to work on my positioning and getting stronger in my bench! Did you know that active recovery is a thing? Did you know that walking can be a part of active recovery daily?! I think in this world of Instagram we forget that while muscle ups, PR lifts, marathons, etc. are amazing feats, in order for most to achieve those things, they need to also put the rest and recovery into play, myself included.⠀ ...⠀ Active recovery & rest are not the most satisfying, glorious, or insta worthy things out there but they are what contribute to long-term success and health. While I may not be a D1 athlete anymore, I can still certainly benefit from resting and recovering my body not just for tomorrow but for the long-haul. I try my best to get 1-2 active recovery/rest days per week depending on how beat up I am and my schedule. ⠀ ...⠀ That being said, rest & recovery does NOT mean becoming a couch potato, instead, it means moving your body in a WAY more relaxed manner in order to allow muscles to heal, cortisol to not continue to be elevated, and other hormones to rest and replenish. You can still move on active recovery/rest days! I, myself, make sure to include at least 1 walk on my rest days and more activity around the house. I aim for 10k steps per day just as a means of making sure I'm moving in a way my body likes and adds no additional stress. ⠀ ...⠀ Don't believe me?! ⠀ Here are some benefits of active recovery:⠀ 💥Replenish glycogen stores (aka your energy stores)⠀ 💥Allow the nervous system to rest & recharge⠀ 💥Give your hormones a break 💥Build your muscle/let it repair⠀ 💥Give you’d mental game a second to recharge ⠀ 💥So much more! ⠀ ps. I tell my athletes that recovery should be thought of as part of their training protocol.⠀ ...⠀ Do you incorporate Rest/Recovery into your weekly routine?! Even though I’m a bit sore from competition yesterday. I wish I did all the squats unbroken but my arms were on fire after the HSPU, just putting them up to hold the rack for back squats had my shoulders on fire 😂. I would love to re-do this once I figure out how to kip/string toes to bar together because I think thennn I may be able to finish within the time cap 🤷🏻‍♀️. HSPU need endurance work too because I had to take decent breaks with those. I wish a had a soft level pad to do them on because the plates I use to level with the abmat never feel comfy under my hands. Ponha bastante azeite de oliva e sal marinho Quando você deixa de #comer lixo, o seu paladar muda. 🍠Atenção sobre batata, cenoura, beterraba e aipim: são deliciosos mas lotados de carboidratos. Se precisar emagrecer, abra mão deles até chegar ao seu peso ideal, e depois vá inserindo aos poucos, vendo como seu peso reage. No início tente não comer nada que cresça debaixo da terra 🥑#Frutas são em geral ricas em carboidratos (em razão do açúcar natural que elas contêm, a frutose). Para emagrecer, fique com abacate, coco, morangos, limão, berry’s... 🥚Ovos de todos os tipos. Cozidos, mexidos, fritos. Você pode levar ovos cozidos de lanche. Tenho sempre ovinhos de codorna em conserva. Amendoim é uma fava, mas acho perfeito e como sim 🌴#Gorduras - use azeite de oliva, óleo de coco, banha e manteiga 🍢Na rua, fique com as folhas e churrasco à quilo ❌Não coma: 🥧Açúcar de qualquer espécie 🥖Farinha, nem integral, nem normal 🍿Grãos - nenhum Como low carb é um estilo de comer e não uma dieta, simplesmente coma tudo acima até estar saciado. Dá para emagrecer, manter o peso e ficar muito saudável, eliminando totalmente #alimentos industrializados. Apenas evite os alimentos industrializados como refrigerantes pastéis, doces bolos, bolachas, pães, sucos de frutas! Para emagrecer, tente ficar em até 30g de carbos ao dia!
