Where I started 2 years ago compared to how much weight I could do today 👊 _____________ I walked into the gym with the intent to do box squats and a bunch of other stuff for quads. I did one set and was not feeling it at ALL! So, I recently made a plan between now and Thanksgiving to get stronger on a few lifts, glute bridges and hip thrusts being two of them. When I started training for my first body building competition I had never used weight to glutebridge (no clue why not, just didn't). So 40lbs was the most I could do, 3 rounds of 10-12 reps. ______________ Now, because of the height of the plates, I need the bosu ball to get the same feel and MORE WEIGHT! I found I could do two plates easy on bridges so I bumped up to three, same with hip thrusts! Ive totally been short changing myself 🤦I would really like to add 1 more plate each side for glute bridges for 10 full reps eventually and get a solid 10 reps with 3 plates each side on hip thrusts. These may be goals, but it's the journey I'm most passionate about ♥️ You've got to find ways to enjoy the day to day while striving for any goal. These are fun for me 😊

His overall stability has improved massively he's gone from having some minor balance issues whilst doing a body weight split squats to doing weighted overhead split squats over the course of a couple months whilst only training once per week. So you did the glute warm-ups and now you’re wondering what exercises target the glutes best? • Exercise 1: glute bridges 1. Either load a bar with weight or grab a dumbbell. 2. Lay with your upper back on a bench and have the weight across your lap/hip bones. 3. Keeping your eyes looking forward (helps keep tension in the core), position your feet in front of you. You can play around with your stance until you find the spot where it hits your glutes the best. 4. Raise your hips, holding at the top for 3-5 seconds & lowering slowly. 5. Repeat 12-15x. • You can superset this exercise with any of the glute warm-ups for 15 reps.

**BRIDGES** . . . Bridges are without a doubt one of my favourite exercises both to practice and to teach. They are a great, simple posterior chain exercise targeting the erector spinae (back extensor muscles) glutes and hamstrings while also increasing the mobility of the spine. What I like the most about them is that there are so many different variations which makes them suitable for everyone at all levels. There are round back, flat back, marching, typewriter, dips, figure eights, single leg, using resistance bands/overballs/magic circles, on toes, on heels, frog bridges, wall bridges to name but a few!
