Simple is Sweet'
Today our happy guest Megha and Rajiv from South Delhi were on a discussion of visiting some parts of coastal India this August. There intensity of topic ended up calling us for a home cook food, where they wanted to feel the taste of habituated food of coastal south. Their description to the menu goes like 'since the heat is on we would like to eat fresh water fish with plain Dal and rice'. The very first moment I remember my Aunt from Kelara and the Portuguese Lady I met in Goa. The most commonly eaten item is fish with coconut ingredients say it in KL, TN, AP, GA... I knew it beforehand that to be prepared items would definitely serve best to our guest.
With a little enhancement to our food items for the day, we happily accepted their order.
- Fresh water fish prepared with onion, ginger, garlic, pepper, tomato s, coconut oil, coconut milk, curry leaves, green chill and some spices. (The dish is prepared very gently and it takes time to bring the actual taste out of it, timely mixing is important).
- Yellow lentils fried in ghee with ginger.
- Andhra sona rice boiled with ghee and curd.
Sharing some of the photos before serving. Will improve the photo quality.
