The Cold Hard Scoop: Ben & Jerry’s Chubby Hubby
CHUBBY HUBBY. The name says it all. This 1400 calorie behemoth checks all the sweet and salty boxes. The vanilla malt base is definitely an improvement on @ OG vanilla. Its funky malt undertones pair well with the trio of sweet and salty mixins. The fudge swirl is gooey and sweet, the perfect partner for the crunchy, salty peanut butter swirl. After breaching the surface, I rarely had a bite that didn’t include both swirls....so incredibly consistent from top to bottom. I do love the taste of both swirls, but I cannot emphasize enough how the different textures of the dueling mixins help take this pint to the next level. Really awesome pint construction!! Now for the star of the show: the chocolate covered peanut buttery pretzels. The choco coating is not only delicious, but it helps these PB pretzel bites maintain their absurdly crunchy texture....major 🔑. The salty crunch of these beauties drives the entire pint home! Sweet, salty, and delicious. This is a mainstay in BnJ’s lineup for a reason and a fantastic way to satisfy that sweet and salty craving. This one is undoubtedly in my BnJ top five BUT does not unseat Glampfire (the sweet and salty 🐐) as my number one BnJ pint of all time.
