“O Lord, you alone are my hope. I’ve trusted you, O Lord, from childhood. Yes, you have been with me from birth; from my mother’s womb you have cared for me. No wonder I am always praising you!” (Psalms 71:5-6) “O God, you have taught me from my earliest childhood, and I constantly tell others about the wonderful things you do. Now that I am old and gray, do not abandon me, O God. Let me proclaim your power to this new generation, your mighty miracles to all who come after me.” (Psalms 71:17-18)
Yesterday morning I was reading Psalm 71 and this passage of scripture prompted me to reflect on the path I’ve taken from early on in my life. The truth is I haven’t trusted Him since childhood and it wasn’t pretty for a long time. This morning as Christmas rapidly approaches there are two things I want to share. The first thing is though I didn’t stay with the Lord He stayed with me and cared for me, even though I didn’t acknowledge Him (vs 6). Secondly, He rescued me so “now that I’m old and gray” (😊) I must continue to speak of his wonderful love (vs 18)! Jesus’ birth, life, death, burial and resurrection was meant to give life, “I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10b). That means that I can have life in Him now (Jn 15:4-5) and forever more (Jn 3:16)! This is the most wonderful gift we’ve ever been given and the most wonderful gift we could ever receive!
Wishing everyone a very blessed day! 😊
