In October we’re going to start the Health-Decisions-Simple Challenge, (HDSC) to help you guys learn the art of simple, healthy eating, and it might be exactly what you need.
But when I say “learn,” I mean it! There’s a meal plan here, but remember: The point is to teach you not to need it.
The whole challenge will last 12-weeks, and incorporate a bunch of habit change principles, both "small steps" and sprints, plus a group dynamic to keep you accountable. And one of the best part is that it doesn't end on Thanksgiving day! So that you’ll go into this final stretch of the year (and the beginning of next one) with more momentum than you’ve ever had. Plus — and here's the difference between this and every other meal plan — you'll have the knowledge to make the changes last.

So when the inevitable craving hit on week 3 or 4, you don't have to battle with the thought of “forever.” All you have to do is last couple more weeks, to the end of my challenge. Seeing the finish line gives you the motivation to push through the cravings.
You have to tell yourself that if you got to 30 days, only then you could make a decision about whether or not to continue.
After 30 days, you will love how you feel. So I created another finish line, this one at 16-weeks at the end. This “pushing through cravings” sounds like willpower, and as you know, willpower doesn’t work very well over the long term. But when there’s a finish line in sight, it does. The finish line has gotta be close enough that you can see it. And that makes all the difference!
So if you find yourself stuck, in anything, whether just unmotivated, paralyzed by analysis, or too impatient for small steps right now.. it's worth considering how you could use the power of a finish line to setup a "sprint" for yourself.
