What the #ScrewTheScale Movement's Got All Wrong ❌❌❌⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You have been working SO HARD on your diet. You wake up feeling optimistic about your weight loss and decide to step on the scale for what you're SURE is proof of what you feel inside. Instead, the scale has another idea. You weigh in at 5lbs higher than what you were expecting.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ UMMM, WHAT?? 😱😱😱⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Cue the guilt 😖😖😖⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ You open IG and scroll your feed to distract yourself and see your favorite fitness influencer proudly proclaiming "#SCREWTHESCALE".⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The idea of throwing your scale out the window and NEVER having to face your fears about it again sounds AMAZING 😍😍😍 And if your favorite fitspo is doing it, it must be good for you, right?⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What the #SCREWTHESCALE movement gets wrong is that it's ROOTED IN FEAR ❌⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Throwing your scale out the window actually PERPETUATES your anxiety about it 😱😱😱⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Instead of facing your fears, it's easier to just run away from them....and every time you say "screw the scale", it gives the scale MORE POWER over you, not less 💣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ❌ I'm not saying the scale is the end all be all of your existence or that you should wrap your self worth up into a number.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 💣What I AM saying is that you should think twice about what this movement is ACTUALLY teaching us. Instead of running from the things that scare us, we as women need to EMPOWER & EDUCATE ourselves.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The scale can be a POWERFUL TOOL if used correctly. It can show you how your average weight is trending over time, which is FAR more useful than any one metric looked at in isolation.⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ It's not about what the number says - it's about how that number trends over time and it's relationship to our energy balance 💣⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ The next time you're tempted to throw your scale out the window, ask yourself - are you saying #screwthescale because you're afraid of what it says?

✨ P i z z a T o p p e d C h i p s ✨ . . @slimmingworld chips done in @tefal.uk #actifry sprayed with @frylighthq . . I a frying pan I fried off lean bacon, mushrooms and onions until cooked. . . Once chips were cooked I placed them in an oven proof bowl and added tomato purée, @primula_cheese (HEXa) , cooked onions, mushrooms, bacon, diced fresh tomatoes and jalapeños then placed in the oven to bake for 10 minutes. . . Served with runny eggs on the side. . . Breakfast rice pudding! I love coming back to this recipe from @brightline.aub on cold mornings (and when my family had rice the night before). #swipeleft⬅️ for her original delicious recipe. I do a slightly different variation mainly because I like a little crunch and because I tend to get small bananas and I hate opening up another one to get 6 oz (and I want my full 6 oz of fruit, darn it!). 🤣 . 4 oz cooked brown rice, 2 oz milk, 1 oz peanut butter, 6 oz mashed banana and other fruit, cinnamon... One of the things I love about stirfry is that I can open up the fridge and use up random produce and other ingredients that might have otherwise expired. It's a perfect dish to throw a bunch of food together and actually have it turn out tasty and nutritious. So if you don't want to put a lot of thought into your dinner or you need to use up some items in your fridge, then give this a try! I usually load up on garlic and ginger root, two very flavorful and immune boosting ingredients. In this case I also used a homemade peanut sauce, and tried the whole grain ramen noodles from @costco that have virtually no sodium (1/2 cup only). Cooking this is not rocket science guys. Throw some veggies and protein in a wok, flavor accordingly, and stir it up for 10 minutes or so. Combine with your favorite complex carb and garnishes, and there you have it! It's fast, easy, balanced, delicious, and you can make large quantities at a time. Plus it's a nice warm meal option for the winter time if you're sick of soup. So give it a try, and don't be afraid to experiment while cooking! Unlike baking, cooking is not a precise science and allows for creativity and versatility. Enjoy!

It’s the holidays and you may feel like you’ve blown it with treats or holidays meals and eats. Here’s a few tips to enjoy and survive the holidays. 1)Drink water, herbal teas, or black coffee to fill up, stay hydrated and boost digestion and metabolism. 2)Fill up on 🥬veggies🥕whether it’s appetizers (you should always bring the @hopefoods hummus and veggie platter👍🏼and @simplemills crackers) or dinner sides. Fill at least half your plate with veggies. They’re the best part of any meal anyways😁 3)Don’t starve yourself all day so you can eat a “big” meal. Eat healthfully and fuel your body. 4)Limit 🍷🍸alcohol to one drink. Have seltzer and lime or sparkling waters first. Savor and sip. 5)Enjoy a treat. Take a bite or have one small dessert, cookie or treat. Personally I prefer to make my own holiday treats with better ingredients that are healthier and won’t harm my stomach. But if you’d like Grandmas sugar cookie, then have one and enjoy it guilt free. 6)Keep workouts consistent. Move your body. made my own 🥥 #kefir! i have a sensitive stomach, and i have heard wonders about kefir, so i made my own to test it. * * * i made 3 batches 👉🏻 swipe right to see the others: one with only coconut water, another with only water and the other with coconut sugar + water. the only one that worked was the one with coconut water. the rest, failed 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣 turns out (i read later), coconut sugar can kill the grains (brown sugar doesn’t). i had read that i could do it with water without sugar but i doubt it. it did not work 🤷🏻‍♀️ makes sense. the grains need the sugar (which coconut water has naturally). 👩🏻‍🍳 * * * MAKE YOURS: mix 2 cups of 🥥 water (i used @harmlessharvest, my favorite) + 1/4 cup kefir grains and let sit in a jar, lightly covered, for 1-2 days. using a nut milk bag, drain the kefir out and reuse the grains for the next batch, immediately! your kefir should be a little fizzy. store it in the fridge for a few days, or enjoy immediately. * * * * #naturalprobiotics **alguien quiere la receta en español?**

🍞 Banana Bread 🍞 🍌 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Just CAN’T beat a bit of guilt free, yet super tasty 😍 baking on a weekend. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Pushed through a big workout this morning and definitely tucked into a slice (or two) of this beaut creation whilst it was still warm 🤤 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ I used @nutrend_uk 100% whey protein CHOCO and cacao to give a cheeky chocolate hint 👌🏼, but you can’t also use vanilla of course. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Your ingredients: ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3 bananas 🍌 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 300g blended oats (flour) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 3 scoop @nutrend_uk whey ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2 egg whites (70g) 🥚 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 100ml almond milk 🥛 ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ 2 tsp baking powder ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Cinnamon (As much as you like) ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Optional extra : I added a handful of raisons ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ Mash up the bananas with a folk, add in the milk, baking powder, cinnamon and egg whites and mix up well. Add in the whey and then the oats. Mix well and add to a lined bread tin.
