Beef and vegetable stew in a yellow cup to brighten up your day ☀️ . As I'll be starting the autoimmune protocol (AIP) soon and will be making a lot of bone broths and stews, I bought a slow cooker. This is the first meal I used it for and it didn't turn out too bad. I cooked the beef in the slow cooker overnight with only salt and some spices (bay leave, rosemary) and added in veggies (celery, Chinese cabbage, and silver beet) and garlic in the morning. . If you have never tried kale in your smoothie then you might want to give this one a go - I never believed kale and spinach could taste so good 💚💕 🌱1 cup spinach leaves 🌱1 cup chopped kale leaves (stalks removed) 🌱1/2 pear 🌱1 small frozen banana 🌱1 1/2 cups cold coconut water or milk (or any other plant based milk you like. I love homemade tiger nut milk) 🌱1 tsp honey (play with this amount to suit your own taste) 💚Remove kale leaves from the rough center stalk and coarsely chop. In a blender, combine kale spinach and milk. Blend until the kale is finely chopped. Stop blender and add banana honey and pear. Blend until smooth. This weekend, my aunt, who is seriously dominating a new plant-based diet (you rock @skets6), sent me a picture of her roasted cabbage. I seriously COULD NOT STOP THINKING about roasted cabbage until I finally had it today. Cabbage of all things! It was sooo good. Anger and the inability to express it for whatever reason can cause stress to be stored in the digestive system, head & neck. Using a rock to remove and store that excess emotion, anger & stress, is a Shamanic practise. 💙 This is how you do it: Get a rock; one you can easily fit in a pocket, or one that you're drawn to. Ask it if it will receive your anger and store it for you. 💜 Don't let anyone else handle or touch your rock. 💛 Put it in your pocket, or next to you. Now, anytime you begin to feel anger, stress, or that you need more grounding, use your rock. 💚 You can periodically allow your rock to 'discharge' its energy by placing it on the earth overnight, then collect it the next day. 🖤 When you feel the rock telling you it doesn't want to do this anymore, take it somewhere special, a place a rock would like to be, and give it back to the dirt. ❤ The rock gets a nice new home and has no problem grounding out the energy, and you get to release a lot of anger/stress/whatever. Once it hits the earth again, the energy will be dispersed. 💕

In Medical Medium book by Anthony William, Spirit of the Most High explains that, “Compassion is the understanding of suffering.” Anthony further explains that "To be a compassionate healer, you have to adapt to each unique condition and personality to alleviate that person’s pain and suffering. Spirit tells me this compassion is the most important element in healing.” Compassion being such a powerful word, drew me further into this book. . Another powerful statement that resonated deeply with me & my healing was "Your body WANTS to HEAL, & it LOVES YOU unconditionally." @medicalmedium on his radio show. This felt like the truth! In the past, a lot of my energy was spent on believing that my body was in conflict with me, rather than being my friend. So, everytime I would hear Anthony say the above statement, it ingrained deeper & deeper within me. He has a powerful voice - powerful because of the truthful energy behind it - it’s very impactful. . So, I would hear his voice over & over in my head, until I reached a point where I truly started believing it, & saying 'I love you' to myself without hesitation. . Is being plant-based enough to truly heal? I am a 3rd generation vegetarian, YET, I still got sick, and I’m not the only one. Clearly I needed guidance. . Only through @MedicalMedium's books, I was able to find the underlying causes of why I wasn't well. I have soo many health & wellness related books saying this & that - BUT, they never provided any solid cause or solution, & a LOT of books encouraged consuming eggs &/ dairy - this was always a red flag for me, hence my trust in the author would never establish. . @MedicalMedium's books DID provide me with the causes AND solutions! They didn't just tell me the cause & then abandon me in the dark to fend for myself. BUT, glory to God, the solutions that are provided are life-saving, health saving, & family saving. . And, guess what? almost 2 yrs into it, & I have improved a lot. I want to help give you all hope, to inspire, to move forward with faith in your heart. I want you all to heal & thrive. #veganexperiment Day 10 I’ve taken out all animal products, wheat & corn as a #trial to see how MY BODY responds. #guthealing There’s a lot of information on the internet out there but the only way one can really make a clear decision on benefits and negatives is by application to oneself!!. Not “he said, she said”.... This experiment has not been easy by any means as my family continues to eat meat along with wheat and corn however I wanted to do this for me so I could rule out food being the problematic issue. My dinner is veggie noodles (zucchini & yellow squash) topped with organic tomato sauce, oven roasted brussels sprouts and a bowl of potato leek soup (recipe needs adjusting). Thankful for the soup as flu season is in full effect at the kids school!! Why did I ditch my paleo/Weston Price diet? 🐐🥛🥓🥚 Really it was more than a diet; it was my life for 5 years, and I was intensely dedicated. I worked on farms milking goats, bottle-feeding sickly kids, killing chickens, collecting eggs, learning how to slaughter and castrate bucks, and making insane amounts of goat cheese: gouda, parmesan, blue cheese, mozzarella, ricotta, you name it. 🧀 . I loved those goats so much and turning their milk into cheeses, yogurts, kefir, and butter felt incredibly nourishing emotionally and spiritually. However, physically I was suffering from my high fat, high protein, high animal product diet. . Here’s a list of the worst health changes I experienced during those 5 years: . • Chronic constipation so severe that I resorted to dangerous home remedies like DIY fecal transplants and eating rotting raw bison liver 😫 . • Intestinal pain that constantly reminded me of my Crohn’s diagnosis, especially stabbing pains in my ileocecal area (I lived in fear of what was going on in my digestive tract despite all of the supposedly “gut healing” bone broth, fermented foods, and raw dairy I consumed.) . • Uterine spasms lasting up to 24 hours that would render me nearly unconscious, making my periods worse than ever . • Nausea and vomiting episodes that increased in frequency and severity 🤢 . • 25 lb. weight gain with a dramatic increase in cellulite . • Extreme fatigue that couldn’t be relieved by sleeping 16+ hours/day 😴 . • The most severe eczema flares of my life, at one point covering my entire face . • Outbursts of uncontrollable rage, even waking in the middle of the night screaming with rage 😱 . I did go dairy-free, egg-free, grain-free, etc. for extended periods of time, and it helped a little, but I still continued to experience this nightmare of symptoms raging out of control. After 5 years of increasingly horrific evidence that my body and mind were not healing, I started to realize that I was DONE. . I surrendered my treasured belief system that I had spent so many years researching and refining, and I started to learn from @medicalmedium about the healing powers of fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices. ✨🥒🍊🌱🍇🥗🍌🍎🥑✨

We had something else planned for dinner but we ran errands all afternoon and honestly we were just feeling run down. Plus...intuitive eating. So instead of a heartier meal we went with bone broth, white rice, arugula, and sautéed onion and carrots from our csa. Super unsexy meal but that's life! Not everything is instagrammable! But my belly is happy! This paired with some local fire cider and all the hydration should help fight off the touch of yuck I'm feeling. The real winner in this sweet potato soup was the carrot green chimichurri topper 💯 One of my intentions this year is to reduce food waste and when I got some beautiful rainbow carrots in my @imperfectproduce box I knew I had to find a way to use the carrot greens. I chopped them up and added some olive oil, white wine vinegar, salt and pepper, paprika, and garlic, adjusting to taste 🥕 Super simple and a wonderful use of a usually thrown away part of the carrot. This is what I like to call a #GreenJuice #Mylkshake 💚🥛🌱, based off the idea of the “GAPS shake”. It allows you to get in all those juice-y nutrients while also balancing the blood sugar, and being a super creamy treat! 😍 It’s this simple: make a green juice (I like to do apple, celery, spinach/kale, & lemon/lime) either in a juicer or strained after blending. Then add it (back) in your blender with 2-4 tbsp of full-fat coconut milk, and whip until frothy! Often homemade kefir, yogurt or even sour cream is used for GAP shakes, but dairy is a no-go for me so I’m in looooove with the coconut milk. You can also experiment with virgin coconut oil instead if you prefer. 😊 Other benefits? The fresh-pressed #applejuice 🍎🍏 can aid in breaking down gallstones, helping your gallbladder to work more efficiently. It also helps to flush out the liver, and delivers tons of antioxidants.🌟 The #coconutmilk nourishes and repairs the gut lining, while actually helping to lower cholesterol. I’d be lying if I told you that I didn’t wish this shake was Tacos. I mean, I’m really super happy that this shake is this shake but Tacos would be amazing right about now. My current meal plan has me eating my first meal at 5 am (totally my choice as it’s timed around when I choose to workout) so my bodies ‘food clock’ is reworking itself. I’ve also given up refined sugars and overly processed foods so I’m dealing with some withdrawals that like to show up in the form of hunger pangs which isn’t actually hunger as I’m being properly fed. I’m grateful that I have this nutritional tool that helps me with cravings, supports my bodies natural ability to thrive while promoting gut health AND fighting free radical damage. When my kids were little, people used to comment on how "deprived" they were that they couldn't eat the junk food other kids ate. While other kids chowed down on their Twinkies and sprinkle donuts, my kids ate the yummy (and nutritious) gluten and dairy free snacks that I brought for them. Back then, avoiding those other foods was a necessity: a couple sprinkles with blue dye would cause my oldest son to have hives (and Benadryl caused seizures). A bite of gluten took away his language for a week and caused horrendous meltdowns and gut pain. Thankfully my kids are better now to where they can tolerate occasional "oops-es". However, I still do my best to make sure we eat healthy. On Sunday, some friends were having yummy blue-frosted cupcakes. My oldest son decided it just wasn't fair. He was angry he needed to avoid what everyone else was eating. I know how he feels. So we went home and made these yummy chocolate frosted cupcakes. Grain free, #gapsdiet legal, and easy to make. Yes, they're loaded with sweetener (in this case, raw honey) but they are a "healthier alternative". Monday night on my stories I made @adventuresinpartaking’s AIP beef and parsnip curry. I had to sub a few things out since I’m also low FODMAP . I used cauliflower instead of onion and cabbage (I don’t do well with cruciferous vegetables but do better with cauliflower over cabbage. Even though it still bothers me I needed to rotate my veg intake a bit). I left out the garlic, too, of course. And used water instead of broth because I don’t tolerate broth and can never find one without garlic and onion. I didn’t have time to make my own vegetable stock either . The curry was delicious although didn’t quite taste like curry. I served it over my Cilantro Celeriac Rice (recipe on my site) and have really enjoyed this warming meal for leftovers this week . I LOVE curry, it’s definitely one of my favorites. I really miss it since going nightshade free. In the last 6 months, I've tried quite a few gluten-free pizzas, but I bought a plain crust for the first time this week. I got a frozen one from Remark and DAMN. I'm impressed!
