Yoghurt. I know I often say things are easy, but making your own yoghurt really is easy. You need a small thermos or flask, and a thermometer. Add 2-3 tbsp of full fat plain organic yoghurt to the flask. Organic yoghurt usually has more good bacteria which means better growth/culture of your yoghurt. Heat milk gently to 90 degrees C and then cool to 35 degrees C. Pour this into the flask, stir and seal, and refrigerate overnight. You will have yoghurt the next day. Home made yoghurt is not as thick as commercially made yoghurt which often has skim milk powder or gelatine added - so the consistency will be different to what you are used to, but the taste will be great. Once you are almost finished that batch, use the last bit of your yoghurt as a starter for the next batch. I usually make 3 or 4 batches before I need to use some bought yoghurt again as a starter.

I just started and lost over 10 lbs and 3 inches and I just feel happier. I haven’t been depressed since I started and my panic attacks are less. And TMI but my periods are almost back on track too! Getting my beef on. Got over the 4 day hump on carnivore, I found it quiet difficult, I have had bad sweet cravings to the point where I speed off to the shops to buy keto cupcakes and donuts, I had every intention of shoving them down my face while in the carpark, but figured that the day was nearly done and I was so close to getting back to my lowest weight, so I put them in the fridge, drank 2litres of soda water and Im back on track. Starting carnivore I was 90.3, thats after a 5 day bender of pizza and cupcakes, my lowest weight is 87.3 ( for one day only) then back up to 80.1. Today I weighed in at 87.4. It would have taken at least 3-4 weeks to get back to that weight again following keto. Ive told myself thar as long as im dropping good amounts of weight on a daily basis I will stick to carnivore, once my weight inevitable rebounds, I will eat those keto cakes then go back to carnivore to see if a slight carb up helps. It’s been a full week! We got our house show ready by Tuesday! Our home went live on MLS Wednesday, and we’ve had three showings so far and two more scheduled for tomorrow and Monday! Our kids in private school had a spring concert, and our girls had a dance recital (and several practices)! Mix in a wide spectrum of emotions from each of our kids, and you could say things have been a bit crazy over here! I’m so thankful for the energy I have and ability to enjoy the process instead of feeling stressed! Sorry Spaghetti squash... you were REALLY yummy, but we can’t be friends yet. 😌 Today I decided to give roasted spaghetti squash a whirl. I added a tablespoon of coconut oil and a sprinkle Himalayan salt and oh my! It was delicious. Unfortunately after eating it, my fingers swelled, I look like I have a beer belly, my knuckles stiffened up and my joints are sore. So, sadly, I will have to forget about squash for a while. So now I will wait for another five days before trying something else. Maybe carrots... we’ll see. I’m not gonna lie, pork ribs are pretty boring when they don’t have barbecue sauce. 😝No seasonings are agreeing with me so I stick to Himalayan salt. Charcoal bread. I seriously don't get this 'superfood', I can't see how it makes sense. Medical and food grade charcoal is used in hospitals to quickly and safely rid the body of toxins. Charcoal has a porous structure so it can sort of mop up substances as it travels through our digestive tracts. It is also used in health supplements in lower doses, often 'detox' style supplements. However charcoal is not a magical detoxifying product. Does charcoal work to detoxify substances from the body? Yes. Is it able to differentiate between helpful and harmful substances? No. This is where the problem lies. Charcoal will just mop up all the substances present in our digestive tracts without whether they be vitamins or toxins. If you buy a healthy-style burger on a charcoal bun (which you probably had to pay extra for) you won't be absorbing the most nutrients you can from the meal and you will be excreting some of them bound by charcoal in faeces. Best case scenario is that the amount of charcoal used in the bread is actually so low it is almost useless and is doing absolutely nothing other than making the bread look an odd shade of black. The only reason I can see for the ridiculous popularity of charcoal bread is amazingly cunning marketing. Plus the fact that it makes meals look extra Insta worthy. For a small fee of course. So next time you eat out at your favourite trendy sandwich place carefully consider your choices. You can pay top dollar for a cool looking bread that is at worst potentially malnourishing, at best useless or you can get an average meal on average bread that tastes exactly the same. #superfoodscams
