So many people think #eatinghealthy means I can’t eat anything delicious or that I will be difficult to dine with. . Wrong. . I eat whatever I want. This is a “mini pizza” that consists of half a #OneBun wheat slice with roasted red pepper bruschetta and Parmesan, toasted, all meal plan approved and it curbed my craving for pizza. . 2 days without drinking one of these. One part of the last 90 days challenge is to give up a food that is bad for you. Is #TransformationTuesday still a thing?🤔 Either way, I’m so proud of the difference I have made in my physical and mental health in such a short amount of time! These pictures were taken a year apart and you can obviously see the amazing changes I’ve gone through! And see how much Greyson has grown also😭❤️ I started Thrive to better myself for me and my family; not to make money and force people to use my products. That is not what I’m about and not the kind of person I am or ever want to be! I started my journey in May of this year, and since then I’ve become a better friend, a better wife to my husband, a better mother to Greyson, and overall just a happier person in general! I’ve gained my confidence back in a way I never could have imagined and for that I am so grateful! I used to be the worst at keeping up with friends/family and flaked out of pretty much everything just because I was lazy and thought no one would miss me anyways. Now I know that there is so much more value in keeping plans that were made and being there for the ones you love most rather than sitting at home feeling like a failure for letting yourself and everyone else down yet again. I never want to go back to the person I used to be; THAT IS NOT ME. I have vowed to always keep a positive mindset through everything and to never let myself or any one else down again and to always be there for those who I love and need me most❤️

November 2016. June 2017. October 2018. I was having quite the day the other day trying to remember my focus. I was looking through memories of the family and these caught my eye. All in all, there is a 40lbs. weight loss between 2016 and 2018. I’ve also put muscle back on and my body is shaped differently than pre Henryk. I use to beat myself up if I saw that I didn’t come as far as I thought I should’ve in two years time. But I’m at the point in my life where health is my #1 concern and I will never take it or my body for granted again. I cannot wait to add 2019 to this next fall. WHAT IS INSULIN? WHAT DOES IT DO? - Insulin is a peptide hormone made by the pancreas. - It’s responsible for many functions in your body involving the metabolism of carbs (sugar and starch), fats and proteins. - It allows your body to use sugar (glucose) from the food you eat for energy, or it stores the sugar for future use. - Insulin helps regulate your blood sugar from being to high (hyperglycaemia) or too low (hypoglycaemia). - Your cells need glucose, and your brain runs solely off of carbohydrates. - However, if you eat a diet that is consistently high in processed food, or junk food, you’re overloading your body with sugar. - This, in turn, will cause the pancreas to release more insulin to lower your blood sugar level. - If you have more sugar in your body than you need, then the insulin moves the sugar into your liver. - Too much sugar in your liver can lead to health issues, such as: fatty liver, diabetes and hardening of the large arteries. - Insulin resistance is when the cells in your muscles, fat and liver, don’t respond well to insulin, and can’t effectively absorb sugar in your blood. - As a result, your pancreas makes more insulin trying to help your cells absorb the sugar; result is an insulin overload. - Insulin affects cortisol levels; when insulin goes up to lower blood sugar, cortisol goes up too. - High cortisol levels also affect the thyroid hormone and can lead to an increase in belly fat. - Foods to help avoid insulin resistance are: vegetables, leafy green vegetables, fruit (which is slowly absorbed by your body and does not cause an insulin spike), beans, legumes, wild fish, organic poultry, nuts and seeds. - #insulinresistance #insulin #hormones #hormonebalance #hormoneimbalance #womenhelpingwomen #healthierme #healthierlife #healthylife #healthylifestyle #diettips #nutrition #nutritioncoach #nutritiontips #livehealthy #eatwellbewell #eatwelllivewell #eatsmart #womenshealth #healthywomen

Can’t be fall without some Pumpkin Bread! Baked these fresh this morning and can’t wait to dig into them. A long time ago I would hate having to bake my own bread and then slice them. I had this fear that none of the slices will be equal if I cut them myself. I would only eat bread that has been sliced, packaged and with the calories labeled. I felt so restricted at that time. However, I have since learned that numbers are numbers, they mean nothing but a guide. Even with packaged food, nothing is hardly weighed out perfectly. And another point to drive through me, NOTHING is perfect. Learning to let go and not care so much about numbers have opened me to lots of other delicious food that I restricted myself. . . .
