When you gotta go, you gotta go -- and for your health, that's an important thing to keep in mind. An average bladder has the capacity to hold about 15 ounces of liquid (eight glasses of water, for example, is roughly 64 ounces), and holding in your urine for a long period of time can stretch your bladder. The automatic feedback mechanism in the bladder sends a signal to the brain when it's full, which then urges you to get to the nearest toilet. The longer you hold your urine, the bladder can become a breeding ground for bacteria to grow. This bacteria can lead to infections, which can spread to kidneys and cause greater damage to the body.

I think this rainy Friday calls for some soup! This one I guess you could call Chicken Salsa soup? I'm like the mad souper over here.... I pretty much just open the refridgerator and used up whatever I had left over from my prepping for the week. I sauteed bellpepper and carrot in butter (because a little butter makes everything better, ghee would be good too), then added some artichoke hearts and spinach with some broth and simmered until wilted. Next I added some pre-prepped roasted chicken. When everything was warmed up, I transfered to a bowl, squeezed some limes, added diced avocado (same as butter, makes everything better) and some salsa on top. The salsa gave it a little kick and some tasty flavor. Here’s a great pre workout, breakfast, or anytime healthy super protein recipe for EGG MUFFIN CUPS Ingredients: Nonstick cooking spray ¼ cup unsweetened almond milk 12 large eggs OR 6 large eggs and 6 egg whites lightly beaten Sea salt (or Himalayan salt) and ground black pepper to taste 1 cup steamed broccoli, coarsely chopped(can use frozen just make sure to defrost and drain out any water) ½ cup chopped green bell pepper 1 cup chopped raw spinach Preparation: 1. Preheat oven to 350° F. 2. Prepare twelve muffin cups by coating with spray. Set aside. 3. Combine almond milk and eggs in a medium bowl. Season with salt and pepper, if desired; whisk to blend. Set aside. 4. Evenly divide broccoli, spinach, and bell peppers between prepared muffin cups. 5. Evenly pour egg mixture over broccoli mixture. 6. My lunch this week has been bomb and #bottomlesspit me can’t wait for lunch today. I will definitely be making this again and I wanted to share the recipe with you all. Next time I might add in more veggies, but here ya go. INGREDIENTS 🛒 • Whole wheat pasta noodles • 1 head of broccoli • 1 onion • 1 package of chicken sausages • 2 cloves minced garlic • Dash of parsley, Himalayan salt, pepper + Italian seasoning • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese Boil noodles Steam broccoli Cook onion, garlic + chicken sausage on stove top, then add in broccoli. Mix with noodles, spices + cheese. You can thank me later 😋🤤

I know it sounds hilarious ☝ but seriously, vegetable oils(processed seed oils like soybean oil, sunflower oil, corn oil, canola oil, cottonseed oil, safflower oil and a few others) are not gotten from any vegetable and are bad for our health....forget all the marketing gimmicks! . Of all the health swaps i have tried to make, this one hard me no be small...not necessarily for myself but for my family at large. How I am winning? I try to use palm oil(bleached or otherwise) if I am going to be needing a bit more oil in my recipes. I use coconut oil in recipes I can wing with a couple of spoons of oil( coconut oil doesn't come cheap). I grill and roast more often instead of frying. Its still a struggle when i have to fry plantain and stuff for my kids because I don't own an air fryer yet..so basically i am trying to offer them less fried food these days. And then there's the suya thingy...i still dey fall for that one big time but I try to limit my visits to the mai suya these days too..and then at the owambes,what's a girl to do?🙈🙈🙈 . Why you should make a switch from vegetable oils?...✔they are highly processed and unnatural, their processing involves use of industrial chemicals and highly toxic solvents. ✔They contain high amounts of poly unsaturated omega-6 fatty acids which are harmful in excess. They upset the body's natural balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids promoting inflammation. ✔They are loaded with trans fats which are highly toxic and associated with increased risk of diabetes, obesity, heart disease, cancer. If you haven't already, its time to get in the process of jilting vegetable oil...its harmful for you. . What are yourexperiences/struggles trying to make a healthy switch when it comes to cooking oils abi na only me waka come? . Happy Friday to all you gorgeous people in the world! I hope your day flies by (until about 4:59) then I hope you can slow down and enjoy the weekend! We all have personal hurdles, limitations, and priorities in our lives – so one just has to figure out a way to work around them. If you have children or a crazy work schedule (or both) and time always seems to get away from you with school, work, homework, etc, find ways to fit your goals into the limited time you have. That’s why we have HIIT, Tabatas, and at home workouts – for those days that getting to the gym is impossible. It’s also why I’d encourage people do to meal prep on Sunday evenings so that there is always something healthy in the fridge when life gets crazy. Here are some of my personal tips to staying motivated ~ 1. Change your mind set and perspective – What I’ve learned over the past few years is that you are in control of 2 things in life: 1) your thoughts 2) your actions. So what does that mean? You have to change the way you perceive the work you have to do to achieve your goals. If you don’t enjoy it, you’re doing it wrong! 2. Tell people your goals! – This helps in so many ways. You might find that someone has a similar goal and you can support each other, but no cheating together! The act of telling people both your goal and your plan makes you accountable. 3. Stop the negative self-talk – Quit it! Yes, you actually can do this. No more of this I can’t! The simple act of saying “I just don’t think I can do this” is setting you up for failure. If you don’t believe in yourself who else will? 4. Embrace Change! – Last year I decided that I was in fact, a bad ass, and needed to embrace this. Until then, I kind of doubted my abilities. You know what? I tried new things, I was awesome at a few and wasn’t so awesome at others. 5. Don’t be in such a rush and create achievable goals – Being healthy, eating right, and staying fit is a lifestyle, not a quick fix fat burner pill. By approaching things in smaller bites, you can continue to stay motivated because you are constantly working towards a new goal and accomplishing those goals – what do you do to stay motivated?
