Calorie maintenance - to maintain weight. . So at the end of the day if you’re hitting your calorie goals, primarily from quality nitritious food (some fun too) that’s what matters most! . 🥔 Second off there are some benefits to having some carbs at night: 1 - Increase serotonin levels: Carbs trigger insulin which reduces amino acid levels so that tryptophan can cross the blood brain barrier & get converted to serotonin. When serotonin is elevated at night, it enables a restful sleep. . 2 - Lowers stress levels: Carbs reduce cortisol levels aka the stress hormone so having them at night can help put you in more a relaxed state . 3 - A 2011 study showed that over a 6 month period the group that ate carbs at dinner/night had greater weight loss, abdominal circumference, and body fat mass reductions . Hoy martes feriado❤! . Te traigo un Super acompañamiento para tus comidas😍!!! . ARROZ BASMATI AMARILLO CON CILANTRO Y NUECES 🍚🌿 #bycamichamy . (Yo hice solo 1/2 taza de arroz...si haces más multiplicas cantidades) . 🔹️1/2 taza de arroz basmati lavado 🔹️1 taza de agua hirviendo 🔹️1 diente de ajo grande 🔹️1/4 cdta de curry 🔹️1/4 cdta de cúrcuma 🔹️Aceite de oliva 🔹️Sal de mar a gusto 🔹️1 puño grande de cilantro fresco lavado y picado chiquito 🔹️1/3 taza de nueces picadas . ☝️Primero se lava el arroz en un colador. Reservar. Poner un chorrito de aceite de oliva en una olla y cuando ya este caliente poner el arroz. Revolver. Mientras rallar el ajo y ponerlo junto al arroz. Revolver y luego echar la taza de agua caliente. Cuando ponemos el agua también echamos las especias. Curry, cúrcuma y sal de mar. Revolvemos y tapamos la olla dejandola a fuego suave. ☝️Mientras lavamos y picamos el cilantro🌿 y las nueces🌰. Cuando nuestro arroz esta listo (ya no tiene agua y esta sequito arriba) apagamos y dejamos enfriar un poco. ☝️Luego agregar el cilantro🌿, las nueces🌰 y revolvemos hasta integrar todo con una pizca de aceite de oliva! Y voilá...asi de fácil y super DELI! 💕 . Que les parece?🙄 Espero les guste! Siempre hay que ir variando recetas para no aburrirnos! Breakfast, finally! What do you think this is? I had a picture in my head when I was planning how I wanted to plate this, it looked better in my head, but it's not so bad right? Mashed potatoes with fish sauce. I have here 380 calories in total. 1 and a quarter cup of diced potatoes, is 200 calories, an then my fish sauce came to 180 calories. As usual, I used only 5mls of oil per serving. PS this is my first time making mashed potatoes, I just boiled it and mashed it? Please, is that all I'm supposed to do? Any extra pointers will be appreciated for next time. Thank you! I hope we having a fab fab day😘😘

When meals are well composed of whole foods, and refined carbs are restricted/removed, there really is no need to eat six small meals a day. This out-dated advice is based on a diet high in sugar/refined carbs which spike the blood sugar, which is followed by a dip, and so the regular eating of small meals is required to keep blood sugars stable. ~ By removing the sugars and refined carbs we remove the problem. ~ Yesterday I had a post training breakfast of scrambled eggs, salmon & avocado at around 07:30. With an open session parent teacher afternoon running from 13:30-15:30 it was unlikely I’d have time for lunch so at 11:30 I had a high protein snack of cracked black pepper beef biltong from @striptsnacks & a black coffee. I ate dinner some 7hrs later @ 18:30. ~ My gut undoubtedly benefited from the down time, and being ‘fat adapted’ my body was able to tap into its fat stores to use as fuel rather than running on high with the immediate fuel sources available when your diet is high in sugar. ~ Was I hungry? Not at at all. Did I devour anything & everything in sight when I got home from work to make up for the ‘missed meal’? Absolutely not. Why would I when I have adequate fat stores available for my body to use as fuel? My body hadn’t missed anything. ~ If you are constantly ‘topping up’ on sugars and refined carbs which your body can process and burn immediately, why or how will your body ever learn to use the fuels (ie. fat) it already has stored? ~ Fat doesn’t make you fat. Sugar does. ✨GREEK YOGURT BAGELS✨ I still can't get over how good these are! 😍You HAVE to try them! What you'll need: 1 cup whole wheat flour 1 1/2 tsp baking powder 3/4 tsp sea salt 1 cup greek yogurt 2 tbsp egg whites Everything but the bagel seasoning 1- Preheat oven to 350 2-In a medium bowl add flour, baking powder and sea salt. Stir and then add in the Greek yogurt. 3- Dust flour on counter and knead dough, flipping around and flattening out about 20x or so. 4- Divide into 3-4 balls, I made 2 small bagels and 1 big one but you can do 4 small ones. Roll each ball into thick ropes and join at the ends to make the bagel shape. Transfer bagels onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. 5- Beat the egg whites and then glaze over both sides of the bagels. 6- Top with Everything but the bagel seasoning and bake for 22 minutes. When the timer goes off, raise oven temp to 500 and bake for another 4 minutes! What I ate for lunch today! A plate of mixed salad, brussel sprouts, string beans, brown rice, cassava root with butternut squash, chickpeas, and a very delicious eggplant cauliflower onion mix. After this I ate a baked japanese sweet potato drizzled with tahini 🙌🏻 10/10. I am now full and satisfied and ready to go lift some weights soon 😏

"Snowy Day Minestrone Soup"..... What else do you do on a snow day???Make a big pot of yummy soup!!! 🙌 Started by sautéing onion, carrot, celery, green beans and potatoes in 1 tbs avocado oil and 1 tbs @fourthandheart white truffle ghee. Allow veg mix to soften and brown slightly then throw in chopped sun dried tomatoes and minced garlic. Cook for a few minutes then add chopped zucchini, cabbage, home canned tomatoes, 6 cups beef broth, 1 can organic garbanzo beans, fresh basil, fresh flat leaf parsley, @sneakygreens salt and pepper to taste, 2 bay leaves and the rind of a wedge of parmesan.... Bring to a boil then cover and turn heat to low and allow to cook for at least 40 min. Add fresh spinach and arugula allowing greens to wilt...Before serving check seasoning and remove bay leaves and cheese rind. Top with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese and a drizzle of pure organic olive oil. Minestrone usually has pasta but I chose to leave it out because I made homemade breadsticks!!!!
