For as long as I can remember, my fitness goals have always revolved around losing weight AND increases muscle or "toning up" because muscle increases your metabolism, so duh💪🏼. Well, as I'm seeing it right now, this forced exercise hiatus may just be what I needed: do focus on Nutrition only to shed the weight and when I'm cleared, I can work on shaping up. Since last week I've lost 4lbs and I'm still having large meals and Holiday treats [because I can't mulled wine👎🏼] - maybe I'm having an ah-ha moment here?

Tender steak cut into small bite-size pieces coated in a fragrant garlic butter sauce. .by @gimmedelicious Ingredients 2 lbs sirloin steak cut into small 1'' cubes 1 tablespoon oil of choice 2 tablespoons butter 3-4 garlic cloves minced or crushed salt and pepper to taste . Instructions Heat oil in a large heavy-duty skillet or cast iron pan for at least 1 minute. Generously season the steak with salt and pepper. Place the steak in the pan in a single layer without overcrowding the pan (work in batches if needed). Cook for 2 minutes per side or until seared and dark brown. Remove the steak from the pan and add the butter and garlic to the pan. Stir for 30 seconds or until the garlic is light brown. Turn off heat and return the steak to the pan. Stir until the steak is fully coated with the butter garlic mixture. Serve with warm mashed sweet potatoes, grilled or steamed veggies, rice, or a salad.

What's for dinner? Quiche! Love trying new recipes, but what's even better is when they turn out! Main Course - Crustless Zucchini Quiche (link below). Found this recipe on Sweet as Honey's Website (@sweetashoney.com) - Some great clean eating recipes. Definitely, going to try a few more of her recipes. What's on the side?? Roasted Tomatoes and Shishito Peppers. My first time cook Shishito Peppers, but not my last. (Shishito Peppers are a sweet, East Asian variety of the species Capsicum annuum. It is known as kkwari-gochu in Korea due to its wrinkled surface resembling groundcherries - Wikipedia). I was able to get them at our local ShopRite. Lot's of veggies for dinner! We did Citrus Tasting in my kids cooking classes this week! . 🍋 🍊 After tasting each variety, kids filled out a chart describing taste and texture. . 🍋 🍊 At the start, a few kids yelled out “Ew, citrus” or “I hate oranges”. When asked why they said, “too slippery” or “too sour”. So, I encouraged them to put a slice on their plate...then, if they wanted, to lick the fruit. Then, if they wanted a small bite, which was followed by “I really like this” and “I’m surprised it’s so juicy and sweet”. . 🍋 🍊 I have so much to say on the subject of how to encourage kids to enjoy new foods. I will write about it more, I will share more. Lunch is served. Lemon Garlic Honey Sage Chicken⠀ .⠀ Ingredients:⠀ • 1 tbsp. avocado oil • 1/2 tbsp. garlic ghee, melted • 1 tbsp. honey • juice from 1/2 lemon • 2 garlic cloves, minced • 1/4 tsp. dried sage • 1/4 tsp. dried oregano • 1/4 tsp. dried basil ⠀ ⠀ Directions:⠀ • Combine all ingredients in a large ziplock bag & add 3-4 chicken breasts. Marinate for an hour. • Arrange chicken breasts on a baking sheet coated w/ cooking spray. On Monday I meal prepped a BAS (big ass salad) with Kale, goat cheese, craisins, walnuts, grapes.. all things delicious. On Tuesday, my husband thought it was from last week and threw it all away. 💆‍♀️ . We’re still married. . This is a quick little Crunchwrap tribute to that salad. #RIP . 1 lavash 2.4 oz cooked chicken .6oz goat cheese 3g crushed walnuts 7g dried cranberries 5 grapes chopped Handful of arugula .5tsp balsamic vinegar . Combine chicken, goat cheese, cranberries, grapes and walnuts. Add to lavash. Spray handful of arugula with olive oil spray and add 1/2 tsp of balsamic vinegar and mix. The picture on the left was taken nearly 5 years ago on January 1st, 2014. The picture on the right was taken today, December 13th, 2018. Same swimsuit, same body, different person. ⁣ ⁣ The picture on the left was taken the morning that I started my very first 30 Days To Healthy Living Program with Arbonne. I had about 20-25 pounds more weight on me than I do now, but the different pictures reflect a change in heart and mindset even more than they show a mere physical change. ⁣ ⁣ In the first picture I worked out way more often. I was at the gym 4-5 days a week, and now I’m lucky to get to the gym once a week. In the first picture I cared so much more about weight and what the number on the scale said, and I also thought about food and my body / body image way more than I do now. ⁣ ⁣ Going through my first 30 Days To Healthy Living program CHANGED MY LIFE. It helped to shift my relationship with food and my body in such positive ways. I do this program now about twice a year and I have never felt more empowered, stronger or more confident. And the best thing is that the picture in the right is after having a baby... something I had worried about for years because of what it might do to my body!!⁣ ⁣ I didn’t work to get my “pre baby body back” - I have simply used all of the principles and tools I have learned about health and nutrition through the 30 Day program and continued with them for my HEALTH and WELL BEING. I started focusing on my health and the weight came off naturally.⁣ ⁣ If you want energy, vitality, confidence and wellness it is a GIFT YOU MUST GIVE YOURSELF. PEOPLE. Talk to me about tree toppers! We ALWAYS have a tree topper, but this year instead of a live tree we bought an artificial pencil tree (MAJOR space saver minimalist Mamas!), and I’m having trouble finding a small enough topper... but now the “no topper” look is growing on me. What do you say, are tree toppers mandatory? I need some input on this very serious issue 😂 SN: zoom in on Jack’s face for some serious toddler angst 🙄😂
