Honey Soy Grilled Salmon with Edamame by @foodnetwork Ingredients: 1/4 cup packed cilantro leaves 2 scallions 2 teaspoons vegetable oil 1 teaspoon grated ginger Kosher salt and freshly ground pepper 4 center cut skin-on wild salmon fillets, about 6 ounces each 2 teaspoons fresh lime juice 2 teaspoons low-sodium soy sauce 2 teaspoons honey 1/4 teaspoon black sesame seeds 1 1/3 cups cooked edamame Lime wedges, optional garnish Directions: Preheat the grill over medium-high direct heat. Oil the grill grates. Finely chop the cilantro and scallion and mix in the oil and ginger. Season with salt and pepper. Cut two 3-inch long slits through the skin lengthwise on the bottom of the salmon fillets, going about halfway into the salmon. Evenly stuff the slits with the herb mixture. Season the fish with salt and pepper. Stir together the lime juice, soy and honey until smooth. Place the salmon, skin side up, on the grill and cook until well marked, 3 to 4 minutes. Turn the salmon and continue to cook, brushing the tops with the sauce, until the fish is cooked through, about another 3 to 4 minutes. Transfer to a serving plate and sprinkle the tops with the sesame seeds. Serve with edamame and lime wedges. Broiler directions: Position an oven rack so that a baking sheet set on the rack is about 4-inches below the heat source. Preheat the broiler. Prepare the salmon as above and place the fillets, skin down, on a foil lined baking sheet coated with cooking spray. Broil, basting 3 to 4 times with the sauce, until just cooked through, about 6 to 7 minutes.

I have some foods that I can’t live without and that you can find in my fridge at all times ⠀ The list of my favorite foods includes: - Berries (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, and sometimes raspberries) - Cottage cheese (I love strawberry flavored cottage cheese, but I also use plain one. Only 2% fat. I can’t stand the fat free version 🤷‍♀️) - Organic almond butter - Chia seeds - Whole cashews (I prefer raw non salted ones) - Any type of natural bread made with oats and seeds - Eggs - Feta cheese - Provolone or mozzarella - Tomatoes - Celery sticks or carrots (to snack on) - Sugar free jello - Almond milk (I use it in my coffee) ⠀ That’s it!! I could just live off these products for the rest of my life ❤️ ⠀ What are your favorite products?

There was a time when I would try to limit my fruit intake because “it messes up my macros, it has too many carbs...” and it’s so upsetting to think that other people think this way too. Made some froyo bites the other day that were delicious and came out to 72 calories each. Thought I’d share the recipe with ya guys! Divide one cup of lemon greek yogurt into 4 silicone muffin liners. Press 2-3 blueberries into the middle of each. Grind up half a graham cracker and layer atop each. Place in freezer for 3-4 hours. Before eating, remove from freezer and let defrost for approx 2-3 minutes, otherwise you might chip a tooth. 😆 They turned out yummy and really helped with my craving I’ve been having for froyo without all the calories. #yummyflavours I used the new 👌Tastic wholegrain long grain brown rice @tasticricesa Winter spicy savoury brown rice with black beans👌 Recipe 2 cups cooked brown rice 1tbs olive oil 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced 2 tsp crushed garlic 1/4 cup diced red pepper 1/2 cup green beans, trimmed and cut 1 tsp ground cumin 1 tsp cayenne pepper 1 tsp smoked chilli flakes 1 tbs fresh chopped coriander 1cup steamed or roasted pumpkin (diced)( I steamed them, seasoned with ground ginger and a bit of cinnamon with a drizzle of honey) 1 × 410g can black beans, rinsed and drained. Salt and black pepper Method Heat oil over medium-low heat in a large nonstick frying pan. Add the onions and cook for 2 tone minutes, until soft. Stir in garlic, cayenne pepper, cumin and chilli flakes and cook for 2 minutes. Add the diced red pepper, greens beans and chopped coriander, cook for another 2 minutes. Then add the cooked pumpkin and rice, stir well to combine well with all the other ingredients. Keep stirring for about 2 to 3 minutes. Add in the black beans and stir gently until the beans evenly distributed throughout the rice. Season with salt and pepper. Ecco la merenda di domenica scorsa che mi sentivo di condividere con voi. Ero a fare shopping con mia mamma, in un centro commerciale e abbiamo trovato questo posticino aperto da poco che fa pranzo/merende salutari e bilanciati, anche in versione vegana, mettendo anche le kcal totali del pasto. Quindi abbiamo deciso di fermarci a fare merenda e io ho preso questo piccolo yogurt magro reso a gelato, a cui poi ho aggiunto bacche di goji e cacao amaro in polvere. Ovviamente c’erano anche cose più sfiziose, come cioccolato sciolto e cereali vari 😋 se siete della zona vi consiglio di farci un salto! 🍧

Happy Sunday guys! So as it is my day of rest, apart from a session of Bikram yoga 🧘‍♂️ this morning I am not doing any exercise today. Rest is as important for your body as exercise is. It is the time your body repairs and builds muscle. I do yoga to stretch my weary body after the battering I give it each day. Plus I am prone to retaining water so the yoga allows me to sweat it out. Not to mention the mental peace I gain from doing it. It isn’t easy and very challenging but so good for your body ❤️. Anyway, on a different note, sharing a video on how I make my delicious and nutritious porridge with you. Such an easy, quick and healthy breakfast . Therefore you shouldn’t make excuses not eat healthily!! Pastries and a fry up are great now and again, however not going to benefit your body in the long run. So this morning I went super simple on my smoothie bowl. Blended: 1/2 a banana, super food powder, sunflower seeds, PB powder, almond milk topped with the other half of the banana and fresh coconut 😍😋 My smoothie bowls are indeed my favorite meal and the best part is you can throw it in a cup if you are in a hurry! I first met Mario at the gym when i first started lifting weights and I was thoroughly embarrassed because he was so cute and told me I was doing it wrong lol I avoided him every other time I saw him at the gym. His family moved in next door and I quickly realized he’s not the boyfriend type but he was always nice to us, even when our families didn’t get along. I spent today being in a strange daze because it’s so weird to think that he’s gone when he’d lived next door for so long. And it’s so sad that he left this world the way he did; I can’t handle it. I spent the day eating my feelings and guess what? I don’t feel any better. And he wouldn’t have wanted me to eat-I should’ve spent the day at the gym. So that’s what I’ll do tomorrow. RIP Mario.
