Credit to @africahealthandwellness : To this day, theres still a lot of confusion when it comes to meal timings. We often get caught up in worrying MORE about when is best to eat, than what we are actually eating.⠀ ⠀ ‘No carbs after 6pm’⠀ ‘Skipping breakfast causes weight-gain’⠀ ‘Snacking between meals makes you fat.’⠀ ⠀ In actual fact, the current body research doesn’t show any metabolic advantage toward eating more or less frequently per day. Although we tend to be less hungry when eating more regularly, it’s probably more beneficial to break all erratic eating habits and find a pattern that is most practical for you to stick to on a regular basis.⠀ ⠀ We all have totally different lifestyles; different jobs, different social lives, different preferences. Five ‘eating times’ might be more suitable for one who works 9-5 behind a desk, whereas (although it's for examples sake and I would personally not recommend it) two larger ‘eating times’ might be all sometime who works a busy shifts on a doctors ward can make. And that’s okay.⠀ ⠀ Find whatever works for you, and don’t stress too much about the tiny details. Have a great week ahead people😘

Here’s what he has to say ⬇️. @Regrann from @drnadolsky - My patient Wendy stopped going to the doctor because they would always weigh her and it always made her feel awful inside. Many told her to just get over it and suck it up. That didn’t work. Unfortunately 85% of my patients hate and dread the scale just like Wendy. It gives them anxiety. They live or die by the number that pops up. I try to help them realize it’s just one vital sign. One data point. It measures their gravitational pull to the earth. It does NOT measure who they are as a person or their self worth. This is easier said than done but keep talking with others who are supportive. It may help.

Mexican street salad - 4 servings For a tasty midweek meal, try our easy, gluten-free Mexican street salad - ready in just 30 minutes. . INGREDIENTS 1 large red capsicum, quartered 2 large chicken breast fillets 1 tablespoon smoky chipotle Mexican seasoning 1 tablespoon olive oil 3 corncobs 400g can black beans, rinsed, drained 1/3 cup chopped fresh coriander 3 green shallots, thinly sliced 1 small red onion, finely chopped 2 tablespoons Praise Deli Style Lime & Chilli Vinaigrette, plus extra, to drizzle 200g cherry tomato medley, halved 1 avocado, chopped 100g feta, sliced 20g baby rocket . METHOD 1.Preheat an oven grill on high. Place the capsicum, skin side up, on a baking tray. Spray with oil. Grill for 3-5 minutes or until the skin blackens and blisters. Transfer to a bowl. Cover with plastic wrap and set aside for 5 minutes (this will make the skin easier to remove). Peel the skin and discard. Thickly slice capsicum. 2.Meanwhile, place chicken in a glass or ceramic bowl. Sprinkle with seasoning and drizzle with 1 tbs oil. Toss chicken until coated. 3.Preheat a barbecue grill or chargrill pan on medium. Remove husks and spray corn with oil. Cook corn and chicken, turning corn often and chicken halfway, for 8-10 minutes or until chicken is just cooked though and corn is tender. Transfer chicken to a plate. Cover with foil. Set aside for 5 minutes to rest. Place corn on a chopping board. 4.Cut the corn kernels from the cobs and place in a bowl. Add the beans, coriander, shallot, onion and dressing and toss until well combined. Spoon onto a platter. Top with the capsicum, tomato, avocado and feta. Slice the chicken and place on the platter. 2018.1.20. 昨日の昼ごはん 🍀卵とトマトの酒粕炒め 🍀豚肉の粕汁 🍀こめひじきの煮物 🍀玄米ごはん . #卵とトマトの酒粕炒め は、溶いた卵に溶いた酒粕と塩を混ぜて炒め、一旦フライパンからだしておきました。同じフライパンでトマト、しめじ、ネギと一緒に炒めたものを醤油で軽く味付けして、玉子と合わせました😊 . 酒粕効果なのか、玉子はものすごくふわふわでした🧡💛🧡 . 豚肉の粕汁は、前日の続き。 . 昨日は、別の酒蔵から、酒粕が5キロ届きました。1キロずつ小分けにされていたけど、さらにそれを200gずつに分けました。2キロ分は冷蔵庫に、2キロ分は冷凍庫に。そして、1キロは #熟成酒粕 のためにパントリーに。 . 小分けしながら、1キロの袋それぞれにオマケの量の酒粕が入っていることに気づく💛ありがたい💛 . お料理は、作ってみたいものが多すぎて、作りたいものリストの整理が必要そう😅酒粕ばっかり食べるわけにもいかないしね。バランスとりながら献立を決めたいです。←できるかどうかは別として。 . そのほかにも、 #酒粕化粧水 にも挑戦したいな💛 . やばい、若返るwww ←痛い人

When the weather gets chilly, it's time for a nice bowl of chili 😉 😀 . Perfect comfort meal to end the day. I needed to recharge from the busy week so we headed to the mountains 🏞. I run, then did some hiking on the beautiful trails of Salmon Falls, CA. Everything is so beautiful and green. Sage 🍃is growing wild all along the trail, and the manzanita trees are in full bloom 💐🌸(see my stories) . Although you can't see it, this chili is a deliciously thick concussion made with ground bison, thick cut Applewood bacon, chipotle 🌶🌶in adobo sauce, black and kidney beans, homemade bone broth, and all kinds of spices including a little wild sage I may have picked up from the trail 😉 . Veg Juice Pulp Seed Crackers by my Mom 🤤. This batch is her second attempt and they turned out phenomenal... Served up today with @miyokos_kitchen Double Chive Cashew Cheese, bacon avocado, olive tapenade and mixed greens... so delicious, hearty and healthy. I’ve been eating this every day this week! The juice pulp consists of carrots, beets, parsley, kale, beet greens, cabbage and green apple... mixed with tons of spices, ground flax, sesame seeds, sunflower seeds, nutritional yeast and pink salt. Ordering a burger and fries at the pub can mean a huge influx of calories and fat. But every once in a while, we all have that craving. Save yourself some calories (and cash) and make it at home instead. A few changes to this traditionally unhealthy pub fare and you actually have yourself a pretty nutritional meal. ———————————————————- For the Burger: 2lbs extra lean ground beef 1 finely chopped jalapeño 1/2 cup grated low fat cheese 1 tbsp Chili powder Salt and pepper to taste Mix well and portion into patties (makes 4-6 depending on preferred size). Cook on BBQ for 3 minutes per side. Place on whole wheat bun with low fat jalapeño havarti cheese, sautéed onions, avocado and chicken bacon. ———————————————— For the Fries: Cut one large sweet potato into fries. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil, salt and pepper. A little celebration today! After having surgery last August to have a disc removed and a titanium plate put in, my healing is well underway. The goal when having a disc removed is for bone to grow in its place and fuse the vertebrae together. My doctor tells me my bone growth is exceeding expectations, and I give all the credit to eating a plant-based diet. These little bok choy helped me on my path to recovery! These guys (and other leafy greens) are loaded with nutrients that promote bone health and bone growth, not the least of which are calcium and vitamin K. No dairy required! Here's to good health! 🌱🌿 Cheers! 🥂😊
