Here’s to a positive week ahead🕺🏼Last week I attended a #newmoonyoga event 🌌🧘🏽‍♀️🌑 hosted by local yoga instructor, @fullmoon_yogini where we focused on letting go of something that was weighing us down and setting intentions for the coming weeks. I decided it was time to make a conscious effort to let go of my self doubt, to go after what I want and stop thinking pessimistically when it comes to my own goals. With that, I also decided to make a daily habit out of a mental gratitude list before bed, and a mental intentions meditation each morning. Life gets crazy so we’ll see how long this will last but for now those two small tweaks in my daily routine have got me on ☁️9️⃣ When we shared our intentions at the event, one of the gals, @soulconnectiondesigns suggested taping or even painting a reminder note 📝 on the ceiling above my bed 🛏 as a reminder to count my blessings. I think I will take that advice bc I really don’t want to get off the positivity wave 🌊🏄🏽‍♀️ I’m ridin’ any time soon 😌Is there anything in your life that you know you need to let go of in order to continue to blossom? Doing nothing is so undervalued ! ☀️🧘‍♀️🌱. People are always stressing to get somewhere or to get something done. Just 'being' is often a big challenge, feeling the guilt of being lazy and unproductive. Some are afraid of their own feelings or thoughts that might get into their awareness when they stop running and hiding inside their busy lives. It's all about finding a balance between being and creating. For me the weight is a bit more towards the being than the creating I have to admit 😇. I guess I should get off my lazy ass a little more somethimes 😌. GET YOUR FIBER IN. GET YOUR NUTRIENTS IN. No matter what diet you're on, if these two things are missing- nothing is going to make sense. I usually have sprouts and veggies for atleast one meal in the entire day. Keeps me full, are really really really low in calories and fiberous too! . . For the veggies, I just saute them after steaming for 5-7 minutes. I release my need to be perfect. 💜 One thing that holds us back is our deeply rooted insecurities. On the outside we look calm and ready to take on whatever comes our way, while on the inside we carry these limiting beliefs about ourselves. Are you putting off working on yourself and your goals because you feel like you do not know enough, you're not ready, or you're not good enough? I've been there too! I always felt like I NEEDED to know more to BE more. Everything had to be perfect for me to move forward in my goals. When Monday came around for me to start working towards my goals and myself, it had to be perfect. If Sunday didn't go as planned and I woke up slightly less prepared than I thought was acceptable Monday morning, then my weekly goals were out the window. At first I thought I was just a perfectionist, but over time I realized, that it was my excuse. I acted like I wanted everything to be perfect, when really I had this gut wrenching limiting belief that I couldn't reach my goal, I didn't know enough, I wasn't good enough, and I wasn't ready. Release the need to be perfect. 💜 Realize, you can never know everything. Even the gurus of all gurus do not know it all. The best coaches, have coaches. What ever your goal is, start now. Start today. You are good enough and you are ready. There will never be a PERFECT time to start, and there is no better way to start then one step forward at a time. If you need help, ask. Reach out to someone who can help you. But let go of the limiting beliefs that you can't, your not good enough, or you'll never reach your goal. I’ve struggled with my body weight my entire life and I thought that I would just accept my fatness and forever be known as the fat guy. But I’m learning now that I don’t have to accept that, and I can transform my body through daily habits to become the healthiest, happiest version of myself. I’m not advocating for skinny I’m advocating for health and the best possible life possible! I know now that in order to change the world you have to be bold. You have to say, do and live your life boldly. I’ve always felt a little reserved when I write blog posts. I tend to sensor myself or I don’t say exactly what I’m thinking. And I know that has to change. We live in a world now where we can no longer be silent. We have to be radical and live fearlessly. And that is why I wrote my latest blog post on fat acceptance. I don’t believe that anyone should embrace being fat. Especially if you are morbidly obese and it’s causing you a poor quality of health and life. I believe that we should strive to be the healthiest and strongest versions of ourselves and that does not include being overweight. I have struggled a lot lately with the terms fat acceptance and body positivity and I’ve come to realize they are two separate issues. When we are accepting fatness we are accepting unhealthy lives, habits and we are inviting in diseases and illnesses that could easily be changed with certain lifestyle changes. When we are body positive however we are learning to love our bodies in that moment. And just because we love our bodies doesn’t mean we can’t strive to change them and make them even more healthy. "God, I don't know what to write."🍁 "Write your heart." it was a quick and quiet response. I almost ignored/missed it, but it made me pause for just a second. . . and then a few seconds more.🍁 "What is my heart?"🍁 "The struggles you're going through." 🍁 They're not tragic or new. More than likely, they're very similar to things you're going through.🍁 As I've sat in groups this past year & listened to people, mostly ladies, open up and share their thoughts & hearts, I've come to realize we are all so much more similar than we realize. Similar thoughts, struggles, questions, & emotions. It's just those things are hard to share in a vulnerable way & so either we don't, or we over generalize them & end up feeling lost & alone. 🍁 In truth, we may very well be lost, but we are not alone. We have each other if we allow, & we have Jesus. 🍁 You know we're often compared to sheep. The thing about sheep is that they don't know where they're going, but they trust the one who is leading them. They trust that he'll take them to green pastures & cool waters. 🍁 They're trust doesn't mean they won't encounter rocky terrain along the way, or wild beasts that are bigger and stronger than they are. They may have to go thirsty or hungry for a little while, but they keep following and trust that the one they are following will guide them through the rough terrain, will protect and fight for them against the wild beasts, and will lead them to those green pastures and cool waters. 🍁 Yesterday on my way home from church, I wanted to walk away. To just leave it all behind me. But in my heart and in my head, I know there is nothing and no one else. Even if I did walk away, I know that my soul will keep searching and never be satisfied until I rest in the one who created it, and so I stay. 🍁 I know that he is the one who keeps bringing me back, and that he is fighting harder for me than I could ever fight for myself. 🍁 He is the good shepherd. He goes after the one who wanders. He lays down is life for His sheep. 🍁







On it's own this dish of grilled chicken, brown coconut rice and greens is pretty run of the mill - but I made some Mango Chutney from scratch to go with it and now i'm never looking back! _______ Does anyone have any good recipes for jams or chutneys? We'd love to hear them!
