It's so hard to trust God and praise him when we are angry, upset or hurting. OR, all the above.
This last week has been a very heart-breaking and trying week for me. I'm still in baby-step mode of a healing process.
I pray that if this is you currently too, you find peace in knowing, you and I WILL make it through this rough season and there will be brighter days.
Though it is a rough season, it has also slowly opened my eyes to my own faults and failures I have made over the past week and year, as I am not perfect or easy to love.
I was reminded by one of my best friends this week that forgiveness is something we give to others because it's what God has called us to do. That we sin daily and fall short of him yet he always forgives us time and time again. And do we truly deserve forgiveness, sometimes? We may think we don't but, God does. So he forgives and loves us still.
Just as he calls us to forgive, he calls us to love. Which is also hard when we have been hurt and betrayed by those we love and care for so very much.
I challenge you (as I personally challenge myself) to take the remainder of this week/year if needed to forgive and love. It's tough, it is going to break you, you'll be angry if you don't get an apology in return (don't expect one) but, in the long run, you've abided by what God has called you to do.
What better time than Thanksgiving to be fully thankfull and forgiving.
Let's start 2019 with a grateful heart full of love and thanksgiving for the blessings we have and not for faliures that happened in 2018.
