I can’t tell you how many times I’ve missed out on an opportunity or passed over a new adventure because I already had it in my mind that I couldn’t do it! 🤦🏼‍♀️ So many times I allowed excuses to keep me from my health and fitness dreams because I was convinced that they were keeping me from going for it. . “I don’t have enough time”, “it’s too expensive”, or “it’s just too hard” are just a few of the preconceived thoughts I had that kept me from making the progress I desperately wanted and knew I needed in order to be a better steward of this one life I’ve been given. . Change is hard, but I finally realised that it was hard staying the same and always feeling defeated! Really HARD!! It didn’t matter which path I chose, so why not choose the hard that is going to produce something better out of me? 🌱 I couldn’t do it alone and I needed help, but I had this friend who believed in me and gave me just enough encouragement to start believing in myself. And just as importantly, she introduced me to the tools and resources I needed to help me reach those goals! . I know some of you reading this feel trapped and in the same cycle of defeat I did! Of course you can establish a healthy eating routine 365 days a year and feel happy and satisfied, and energized about it! In Shaa Allah. . Everything is possible in Shaa Allah; we just need to focus and be persistent! . If you're completely honest with yourself. How many times have you really tried and been persistent without reaching your goals? . In my experience for success or not reaching my goals, these are the major factors: 1. I wanted it, but I didn't focus enough, or give that single thing enough attention. Therefore my expectations to reach that goal were not realistic. This is a very important part, and you really need to decide that you actually want and will do, not only wish. So the reason or "why" is important. 2. Priorities. Do the right priorities along the way, and those that are of most importance right now to bring you forward. 3. Having the skills, knowing what to do and do the right thing. 4. Being persistent! 5. Staying patient! . Because when you do, and when you know it's such a lovely feeling of freedom, isn't!? Just 5 days ago my husband went in for Shoulder Surgery, and tonight we are out celebrating his big 4-0! All in all, he’s feeling, moving and sleeping pretty good! . . . So here’s the thing ... I talk to women all the time who tell me, I want to be able to do what you do.... Go out for a beer or glass of wine (or two) and pizza occasionally and live my life, feel good about it ... but still lose weight and get results! . . . Well, you can!! I totally agree, and that’s where I’ve gotten today. But it took time. I dealt with a major eating disorder about 10 years ago and had tons of social anxiety around food that trapped me. For Years. . . . I’ve been practicing this lifestyle now for years, following healthy eating plans with my workouts, practicing the right portions and now I just know what to do. I know what my body needs, how it responds to certain foods (and treats!) and how to tweak when I need to. And when I really want to dial it in to see more, I do! And it’s fun! . . . But ya gotta be patient and you’ve got to practice. The habits and change won’t come over night. But you absolutely can learn how to live the really fun life you want to, say yes to the treats you want to, and still achieve and maintain the results that you want to! Imagine working hard for something you really want, then finally get 🙂 . Girl on left: I don’t know how I’m going to do these intense programs again when I still can’t bend over without a huge belly in the way. How can i do this with THREE kids, while nursing a baby? Am I even strong enough to mentor others while I’m working on myself?! . Girl on the right: No matter how hard my day was? I refused to sit down until I completed a workout in my garage. I pushed. Every. Dam. Day. Some days I ate perfectly? Other days I would crush goldfish, fruit snacks, and doughnuts with the boy’s. If it wasn’t for my accountability groups depending on ME to show up and check in? I wouldn’t have the success I do now. . I knew what to do, but coaching? Is the biggest secret to my success. And guess what people relate most to? The times I struggled and could relate to their struggles. The difference? I pushed past the excuses to inspire, motivate, and reach my goals. #transformationtuesday . When this pic popped up on my feed last week, I took a long hard look. . Do you know what I saw? A momma determined to do something for herself that made her stronger, happier, healthier, more energetic and more confident in her skin. ❤️ . Does that make me vain that I not only wanted to feel my best, but look my best too? Heck NO!!! . 💪🏻It means that I saw an opportunity to live a longer life with loved ones and went after it. 💪🏻It means I stopped making excuses and finally took control. 💪🏻It means I was sick and tired of feeling “sick and tired” and found a total solution. . You guys!! What I do is no quick fix, fad, wrap, pill or “protein shake.” It’s REAL life. And works when you put in the effort. I eat real food (even treats). I do real workouts (even ones I don’t always like). I get dense nutrition in a form of a superfood smoothie daily because I know my body is deprived otherwise and craving it (nope, you can’t get it just anywhere). . By no means will I ever be “done" or perfect, but I've learned that when I do the same things daily, the healthy habits I now know, I make progress. And it's a lasting change. I’ve learned HOW to stick with it... even in Month 41, 6 months pregnant. 🤰 . Yes, there's a big difference between these pics. . Yes, it's been over 3 years since I started this amazing journey and have stuck with it. . And YES, it's not ever too late for you to say YES to YOU too! 😘

Life is like a box of chocolates. Forrest & I agree on that much. You NEVER know what you are gonna get? False. If you are a chocolate connoisseur you do know what you are going to get. You may not love every piece but… If you’re not a chocolate connoisseur, you need to get busy and decide to be one. Or roll with me on the following analogies. Have you ever seen a Whitman Sampler with assorted chocolates? It’s a great metaphor for my life. Solid chocolate, MMMMM - Steady. I know exactly what I am going to get. This is when life is just going along, I’m enjoying it, it is good and predictable. I know there will not be any surprises in the middle of all that steadiness. Chocolate filled with caramel – Confession time - when I open a box of chocolates this is my first choice, but I can only have so many because of how sweet they are. Life is like this, good and then bam, soooo sweet, so amazing, so yummy BUT to appreciate those times, I need to have steady times. I need to be steady. I need to stay steady. Have you noticed how many of these are actually in an assorted box? You connoisseurs know – just enough to keep me looking for the next oh so sweet moment. Chocolate with nuts – steady BUT different.  Let’s just say nuts are the right and left turns I take on occasion – not good or bad just different. Chocolate with mint - yeah that York Peppermint Patty sensation – guess what? It’s the Holy Spirit blowing in and through my life.  It is pretty unexpected and yet I know it’s there. Chocolate with coconut – mostly good and then the coconut gets stuck in my teeth.  Just like life - mostly good with some junk that’s gets stuck. Stuck in my heart, in my head, you get the picture. Veggie Patties 🌽🥦 Holaaaa!!!! Hace mucho que no subo recetas de bebés, pero es que desde que mi hijo cumplió el año come casi siempre lo que come Mamá o hago ligeras modificaciones🙄, prometo no abandonar tanto a mis Baby Mommas ☝🏼. Estas tortitas son perfectas para desayuno, lunch o hasta snack y les prometo que les van a encantar (suitable for mommy’s too 🙋🏽‍♀️) Utilicé: . 1/2 taza de calabaza rallada . 1/4 taza de coliflor en pedazos pequeñitos .1/4 taza de brócoli en pedazos pequeñitos .1/4 taza de granos de elote . 1/3 taza de harina de avena . 1 huevo o 2 claras . Sal y pimienta (omitir en bebés) Es importante colocar la calabaza en un colador y exprimir exceso de agua ( o quedarán aguadísimas o simplemente no quedarán) ☹️ Batir los huevos en un bowl. Incorporar las verduras, harina de avena y sal/pimienta, revolver hasta que esté perfectamente mezclado. Cocinar en un sartén a fuego bajo con un poquitín de aceite de oliva y hacer tortitas (como cuando hacemos pancakes). Listo 🌽🥦💛. Ellie and I Made these yummy peanut butter energy bites! These are a great healthy substitute for granola bars! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ • ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ INGREDIENTS ⅔ cup creamy peanut butter ½ cup semi-sweet chocolate chips 1 cup old fashioned oats ½ cup ground flax seeds 2 tablespoons honey ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ • ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ INSTRUCTIONS Combine all 5 ingredients in a medium bowl. Stir to combine. Place in the refrigerator for 15-30 minutes so they are easier to roll. Roll into 12 bites and store in the fridge for up to a week.

Over the weekend I whipped up a bunch of new sweet potato toast recipes and this one was a perfect combo of salty, sweet and crunch! Great for a snack! Hit every craving! . A perfect blend of fats ✅, whole grains✅ and protein ✅ for your optimal macro meal. This is honestly a great option if you’re trying to stick to a very whole food approach to eating. . . I made up about 6-8 slices of “toast” with 2 medium sized sweet potato 🍠 yams slicing them about 1/4” thick but thickness can vary. . Bake at 350 for approx 15 minutes with a drizzle of avocado (or your fav) oil! Or you can throw them in the toaster as well until slightly browned. . . Too with your favorite toppings! Here I used about 1 tbsp almond butter, raw pumpkin seeds, unsweetened coconut flakes and fresh organic blueberries! . For me, working out is a huge stress reliever. It’s a chance to literally push all else away and concentrate on reps and breathing and that’s it. Most days this is enough. Enough to keep me pretty calm for the most part through the day. Apparently not today. Yikes! I am on edge. Totally in a weird mind space. All those reps. All the pushups. Not working like they normally do. I mean. My back. My biceps. My chest. All on fire from this morning. And yet. So many little things are just totally getting to me today... Why am I sharing this. Because. This is life. There’s no magic pill. There will be struggles. There will be hard days. My encouragement to you is to take the moments as they come. To take a step back and put tings in perspective. I conquered today’s crazy workout. I got my kid to school on time. I arrived at work and am hitting all my deadlines. So many little successes. Right now. In this moment. I am choosing to focus on those and build on them for a better afternoon.
